There are some guys that need to find a good situation to truly break-out. Like Joe Johnson got to Atlanta in year 5 and started to show All-Star talent, Kyle Lowry in year 9 in Toronto average 17ppg for the first time up to 22ppg last season (best ever) & more recently Harrison Barnes year 5 in Dallas.
So who do you think has the opportunity to break-out and more so like Johnson/Lowry help their team win?

#1: Avery Bradley – Didn’t have to do a lot in Boston but was really good come play-off time. I think he and Drummond could form a really good duo with Avery being the best defender and averaging close to 20ppg.

#2: Victor Oladipo – Has already shown flashes as a rookie & sophomore before change of circumstances altered his game. In Indiana he will be the go to guy and have full command of the ball, I expect to see some lethal pick’n’roll/pops with Turner.

#3: Ricky Rubio – I just don’t think he was utilized to his full extent in Minnesota. He will have an insane lob target in Gobert, shooters in Hood & Ingles, not too mention a running mate in Mitchell as well.

#4: Nerlens Noel – Extremely disappointed in him that he didn’t take the 17.5mil over 4 years as I think he along with Smith Jr, & Barnes could be a nice trio in 3-4 years. I think he finally gets a full run at starting C spot he shows great growth.

Can’t go wrong with Players out East. With all the Turnover and Players heading West I’m sure we will See a Couple late Bloomers.

Dion Waiters, Enes Kanter, Nick Batum, Otto Porter Jr and Dennis Shroeder could all Be candidates if they take that Next step Forward.

     1. Jusuf Nurkic: he’s only 23 but this will be his 4th season in the league. Once traded to portland he averaged 15pts/10rb/3ast/1.3st/1.9bl so i guess he could have a big year and be the x factor on the team.

    2. Tobias Harris: Bradley will be a great addition and will have a good year but i think it will be Tobias, the player that without Morris and pope could really explode and become the all-star on that team..

    3. Austin Rivers: without Paul, Crawford and Reddick, Rivers will have every opportunity and could finally become something closer to the player he once was in HS and college. He will be in the mix for MIP.

    4. KCP: i think Detroit was not the ideal place for him, as they played one of the slowest paces in the league and had a PG like Jackson which doesn’t help his game. This year, in a super fast pace and next to a PG like Lonzo, KCP could see his numbers rise and become a worthy heir of Byron Scott..

    5. Dion Waiters: I think this will finally be the year he becomes the player everyone expected he would, and could become all-star in a super weak east conference.

also add Tim Hardaway jr. i think he could become a 20 ppg player on that team, especially knowing this year they will increase their pace now that Phil Jackson is gone..

I’m really high on Oladipo. He had a great start to his rookie year starting at point guard then the next year the Magic draft Elfrid Payton who can’t play off the ball and they essentially taken the ball away from Dipo’s hands. That to me stunted his growth, along with playing with Westbrook, where he was relegated to being like all the other guys on his team a spot up shooter.

I can already envision how insufferable Knick fans will be if Kanter and Porzingis are both in the area of 20-10 guys and the Knicks take one of the soft bottom of the East playoff spots.

My breakout candidate is Rodney Hood. He should be the #1 option on that team.

I also like Oladipo playing in his college town. He will have every opportunity to succeed there.

While I agree that Rubio is a candidate for late bloomer, it’s funny to remember I follow him since he burst on the scene at 14yo

Dante exum will be an interesting player to watch. His rookie year was basically about adjusting to the NBA and last year was basically about just getting used to playing again. His mins have been limited on a deep team but he started to show some stuff toward the latter part of the season into the playoffs. Now that he’s healthy, I expect his playing time and responsibilities to increase and it will be time for him to start turning the potential into results.

I like Rubio as a player, I’m a fan, but his issues in Minn have nothing to do with how he was used. He suffered some untimely injuries and he can’t shoot. He played really well over the last two months of last season, in large part because he was making shots.

If he carries that over to Utah he could still put together a good career and be in the upper half of the league as far as PGs go. If he reverts back to shooting 31% from the field his career will begin to fade.

    — I think there is a pretty good chance Kanter could put up some big numbers for the Knicks. They don’t really have anything to lose by playing him whether he defends or not, so I could see 25-12, which sounds crazy but the dude can do it at the offensive end and somebody has to score.

    — Love Nurkic, I think he has a breakout year. Really played well after the trade.

    Become better:

I could see Melo becoming more efficient than recent years in OKC due to having more space to operate playing with Russ+P.G

    P.G same reason as Melo.

I could possibly see Jimmy butler being more efficient also due to playing under thibs+ having more options to help get easier looks.

However in regards to who will put up greater stats than last year its a bit different kind of list:

D’angello Russell-He most likely will get the keys with Nets.Well as long as he doesn’t pull another Phone gate on himself…

Kriss Dunn-Bulls may allow him to just play through things and when given reasonable minutes he may surprise people…

Oladipo-Him and Miles will get the green light…

Kanter.Bigger numbers than last season but the question will be will he keep building on the defensive side as he was making small steps to improve on that side.

Avery bradley-should get more touches in Detroit and be on for big chunk of the game..

Jamal Murray-Could see more minutes than last season and could take a booker like leap -Well if the minutes increase that is..

Denis schroder-As there is no one else in ATL  except Bazemore
