I stated it last year and I wonder if it’ll come true this year. I stated that Isaiah Thomas was probably the best last pick in the NBA draft ever, and look where he has panned out, he’s the starting Point Guard for the Kings. A proven college basketball player who can flat out play but has the odds against him. Who will be this year’s last pick? If it was up to me, I’d take Jordan Taylor out of Wisconsin. He’s another point guard who has proven himself in college that not many people have on their draft boards.

Rick Jackson has no midrange

Rick Jackson has no midrange and no athleticism, what does Ater Majok have? 3 rebounds a game in his career at UConn. You have to be kidding me. First of all, Isiah Thomas out of Washington as the last pick of this year’s draft is probably the best player ever taking last in the NBA draft. E’Twaun more also out of Purdue is also a solid player. These are guys who are proven players who I believe will make rosters and can be sparks off the bench. Isiah Thomas is a far better point guard then Nate Robinson yet Nate was drafted in the first round.

Duke pedigree, athletic ability and size that rival Blake Griffin, but sometimes it looks like he doesn’t know how to play basketball…I think someone will roll the dice on him with a non guaranteed contract.

I have to agree with you on Miles Plumlee, I just see a bunch of skilled players in college who are not given the opportunity to be drafted although they deserve at least that. Who knows how they will pan out in the NBA, but for a guy who has performed up to par over and over again in college and not be recognized for it is just absurd. I see the NBA the past couple of years and the draft remains consistent every year, the top half of the draft are young freshmen & sophmores who have a great deal of potential or were college standouts. Then there’s the middle of the 1st to the later 1st round where more solid college producers are selected who has played in college a little bit longer along with the gamble selections who can be Boom/Bust type of players. Then there’s the second round who is pretty much random. But every year there are those proven consistent night in night out college players who do not get drafted because 1) They’re not athletic enough 2) They do not have enough potential or 3) They are not strong or big enough for their position.

I’ve always been a huge fan of Johnson-Odom or Marquette players in general. They always find a way to win games although every year their line up consists of a bunch of guys 6’5 and smaller playing the 1-4 positions. I can actually see Johnson-Odom be a mid-2nd round pick because of his physique and body strength. He’s a real quick combo guard who is limited because of his size. I can also see Sacre being drafted in the mid 2nd round, he’s a proven player who rebounds the ball well, but not great and he provides size, although his development never reached its full potential.
