XYRYXParticipantI am really impressed with his game as of late. Had some really impressive stat lines in the first round and since he was inserted into the starting lineup this season he really showed some progress.
What I like most about him is that he is often looking for the extra pass or is trying to set up his teammates. Combine this with his very good rebounding and he might be the future at the shooting guard spot for the Pacers.
I have to admit I gave up on him in his rookie season when is was reported that he has hit his girlfriend and other actions. I really thought he is just a Prime example of how Hype can destroy careers just before they start and that the self proclaimed ‘Born Ready’ is just one of this teenagers who believed the Hype and stopped beeing hungry.
Right now I have to say I’m VERY impressed with him. He seems to understand his role on the team and isn’t taking Bad shots or making too many boneheaded plays. He plays with anger, temper and passion similar to Westbrook what can be bis achilis sometimes but as of late I’m happy for him and hope he stays focused!
What do you think will or should happen when Granger is healthy? Bring in Granger and send Lance to the bench? Bring in Granger to rise his stock for a trade or let Granger come of the bench?

KHAM83ParticipantI mentioned before that I gave kudos (or a NBADraft.net thumbs up!) to Bird for sticking by him. From day 1 he said Lance had a bright future, but not many believed him. Indy’s future looks bright with he and George on the wing. Lance, like George, also has all the physical attributes that can make them great on the defensive end as well. His ceiling is definitely an All-Star.
Now what to do with Granger, if a team offers a deal that you cannot refuse, for instance a huge upgrade at pg, then you do it. But I don’t think Indy should, nor will they, deal him just because. He has 14mill expiring contract next year. This is a big deal bc both George and Stephenson are up for extensions. George almost certainly will get max deal, while Stephenson may demand a huge chunk as well. Being a small-mkt team, Indy will be hard pressed to afford both extensions, while paying Hibbert, unless they keep Granger and let his deal expire to free up cash. Also- in this small ball era, I think Granger and George can both succeed at forwards on the court. With Hibbert inside, and Granger no softy, Ill like to see them start him at the pf spot for a while. I think this can workout.0 - Posted on: Mon, 05/06/2013 - 3:38am #769173
BKGingerSnapParticipantDanny Granger should be the 6th going forward. Having Granger and George play at the same time means one will be playing out of position and Stephenson’s defense and rebounding is too valuable to not give him starter’s minuets.

HitsterParticipantHe has had a solid season this year and has played his role well as almost the intangibles guy who has to do a lot of the support work. He has seemed to have accepted his role as 5th offensive choice in the starting line up well and in the play offs has started rebounding like a front courter.
Considering all the bad things we heard about this guy on and off court, he seems to have really matured into his role on a young team. Maybe having a solid environment lead by Coach Vogel, Brian Shaw, Kevin Pritchard and co has really helped him.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantTony Wroten plays alot like him…They both are poor shooters..But they are tough, decent passers, can defend and get into the lane………..

JoeWolf1If Lance can stay out of trouble, I think he can have a long career as a glue type player. He can do a lot of things and can give a team a rebound, an assist or a key shot when they need it. I don’t believe Stephenson will ever be a star, but a guy like Bob Sura, who was about 6’5” but had point skills and could even play a little small forward, but was either a starter or a high minute bench player who’s best seasons were around the 13/4/4. I think Lance can have that same type of career.

bigmandinkyParticipantGranger could actually be very useful as a strech 4, depending on whether or not Indy ends up resigning West or signing a power forward good enough to replace his production.

Taylor Gang MikeParticipantBorn Ready is only 22 as well. Him and Paul have a bright future. They should deal Granger, I dont know for who.. I would say a PF but D West is playing great. But the future is bright in Indy.

bigmandinkyParticipantThere would probably have to be some fillers salary wise, but maybe Granger for Caron Butler and Eric Bledsoe? They could even flip Bledsoe to a team like Utah or Orlando for some assets.

FastAndFuriousParticipantI don’t think the Pacer’s are looking for any PG’s they already have Hill and Augustine

bigmandinkyParticipantTrue, but Hill plays both guard positions anyways, and it never hurts to add another young piece.
Bledsoe
Hill
Stephenson
George
HibbertAll great defensive players.

IknoBall12ParticipantThere is a nice article on him. I actually think he will be better than a glue player I think he can be a 15 5 and 5 guy
