Lance Stephenson Back to his OLD TRICKS
Mike Wells tells the Indianopolis Star that much troubled rookie guard Lance Stephenson is showing his immaturity once again..During a recent game a/k/a Big Ready made some nasty comments about teammates Danny Granger & Danthay Jones during the game..And during a 2nd half timeout Jones had to be Restrained from going after Stephenson in the huddle...Things carried over into the lockerroom after the game when a number of other players were involved in a heated argument...
If Stephenson is having run-ins with Danny Grainger his team's star player then I do wonder how long he will last on the team. And if Dahntay Jones a much more senior player is so angry that he has to be restrained from going after Stephenson then there must be issues with Stephenson.
Dahntay Jones strikes me as having a Maino type of tude once pissed off
They should just release him. He isn't worth the trouble.
But you can't take the ghetto. I can say this statement becuase i have lived it/seen it/ and i've been directly affected by this ghetto behaviour, Had @least 4-6 close relatives that had professional skills in various sports. A few made it to College. 3 broke through the crap that surrounded them/1 went to Purdue played with RodWoodson/One was an AllAmerican High-Jumper/ & Currently One is Playing in the NBA. One could have ran for State in the 400's/instead he ended up running from the State Police. This behaviour is a blackeye to other African American's in Sports trying to be great citizens. I think teams need to invest in a Total Makeover of players before they allow them to ruin the fans perspective of the Team. I know Bird kept Him away for 3-4 months until his trial was over, he had to practice @ an isolated gym. But you just cannot have this type of stuff around your club, after the Brawl @ the Palace. That's my Rant for the Day I'm done.
I forgot that Indiana were the Brawl in the Palace team until Jjonz reminded us. I know that Dahntay Jones isn't a superstar but he's a 7 year or so professional and a senior player to Stephenson on that team so no doubt he'd be annoyed with some rookie having a go at him. Dahntay played under Coach K at Duke so probably had a good grounding there and has stayed in the NBA because he can do a job for his teams.
I don't want to say anything further about the Grainger issue because that must be Stephenson's sure fire ticket off the roster if he upsets the team's top player.
It would need very little for Grainger and Jones to maybe rope in a couple of other players and demand that Stephenson goes from the roster.
If Stephenson has had issues with Grainger and Jones who will it be next someone like Foster or Posey who are the senior players on the Pacers's roster.
All Granger has to do is go to the front office and say:
"Its me or him... One of us is going to go."
Then, Lance is someone else's problem..
I dont think much of Stephenson, and I definitely dont think a rookie with ten games of experience should be the one saying something , but when you lose by 20 to the Twolves ( especially when you're in a playoff race) then somebody on that roster should be getting mad. That team lacks leadership in a major way. Granger going 0-9 from three is inexcusable ans being 2-19 from the field looks like the stat line of someone who didnt give a crap about the game.
One thing about it Lance is not gonna take sh*t from anybody. He has that NY f*ck you mentality, which is sad because it does not help his cause out for anyone to back him, especially over a franchise player like Granger. Lance will be one of those players to regret it, 10years later down the line when it's all said & done he can sit back mature & realize he f*cked up potential millions. I see players in regret from the past & it is sad because they could've been superstars, but their egos are to big.
Why is this immediatly Stephensons fault, Jones is just as ghetto as him. The rule applies for both parties. Im sure someone said something, and the other wouldnt back down. If Stephenson provoked Jones and or Granger it is thier jobs as professionals to not engage in negative behaviour. Also we dont even know what happened so lets not speculate and just lay the blame right on stephenson.

Straight Boshin it!
It is Lance's fault because it was never a problem before...
Get rid of him! there are thousands of basketball players waiting for an opportunity to play for the NBA that are also mature enough to handle it.
When you capped OLD TRICKS I was praying he got picked up with a 40 year old hooker
Has Lance played a game for the Pacers yet? He isn't in a sh!t-talking position.
Why do posters on this site care about players that clearly can't hang in the league...People are so enamored with players like Lance Stephanson, Anthony Randolph and Ricky Rubio...these guys will never be good or great players in this league, there are more that fail to come to mind mainly because they suck and aren't worth the sweat in my jock strap...
Yes he has played a couple of games (7). He's also averaging 4.6ppg, 2.7apg, 1.9rpg in only 13 minutes.
He is in no position to talk about their best player having ONE off game and he may be talented and but the kid has to get over himself..... He might find himself out of the league if he isn't careful. If Jerry Sloan was his coach he would have been cut during training camp if he pulled this crap off.....
He better wake up and change his tude or else he's gonna end up the next Rashad McCants. Plenty of talent but the NBA will blacklist ya if your gonna continue to be a cancerous prick.
You guys are quick to assume, I dont even see a link. Indiana is playing horrible against the Pacers thou, down 43-29 timeout. Way before Lance entered the leage evryone predicted this anyways.
