Lance Stephenson

I think if he goes in the second round he is a steal for who ever gets him. I think he has the potential to be an all-star in the NBA. He has great size for a two guard, and is stronger than a typical two guard, i think he can be like a Tyreke Evans type player. I think in a couple of years he will be a 20 point 6 rebound a night kind of guy. What do you think?

I doubt it...

Lance isn't as polished offensively as Evans was in college. He doesn't pass or create for others like Evans is. Lance needs to find a jump shot to keep teams honest because without one he will be easy to guard. Now don't get me wrong he is strong and his game is fit for the NBA but I dont' think he's quite there yet. I doubt he becomes an all-star unless his demeanor changes.

I could be wrong though. The Bucks were high on him but since they snagged Maggette it's unlikely because they virtually have the same skill set. As a matter of fact he could be that type of player (Maggette) without the jumper right now.

yea i agree FreeJasonry, he

yea i agree FreeJasonry, he does need to change the way he looks at the game and comes into it. And if he does get a jump shot down, and he gets better court vision i think he will be a good player.

He has a great NBA body he

He has a great NBA body he just has to prove he can shoot the rock at a decent percentage. Those 20/6 type of numbers you describe all hinge on if he can improve his shooting his first couple of years in the league. I have to believe that whoever gets him lands what will be a good player and will put their shooting coach to good use immediately. With a name like born ready, I would assume he knows the business of basketball and the things he is going to need to work on to make it. If I were a GM I would also be very interested in finding out what his work ethic and attitude are like on a daily basis and what he brings mentally to a locker room.

Lance is the next Wade

No doubt about it, attacking SG that cant be stopped off the dribble and needs to work on jumper. Speed and jumping off the chart, loves to play defense.

He has a great 1st step, a

He has a great 1st step, a big body and big-time handles, but his mid-range game is very nice for a guy that is just 19. He lacks range on his shot for the most part, but he can get on hot streaks where he makes shots all over the court. Also needs to work on his shot selection. He can pass very well even though he will try and get fancy at times. He also isn't a great leaper, but his length compensates for it a good deal. On D, Stephenson is also very good. I think he can be a well above average defender in the NBA.

I see him as a Ron Artest type in the NBA. He can be a 1st option or 2nd option scorer, but he has to work on his shot selection and extend the range on his jumper. What does he really do worse than Evans?? He played just like Evans played before he was allowed to play PG at Memphis. I think he'll be looked at as one of the better picks in this draft, especially if he falls to the 2nd round.

1st option?

Exactly so if Evans had stayed at the 2 he would be the same player but he wouldn't have been highly touted coming out last year. Remember Evans has a overall better skill set than Lance. My whole argument hinges on the fact that his demeanor will kill him. If he falls in the 2nd round I would draft him myself hoping for the best because he has potential. He doesn't shoot has good as Evans, he doesn't pass as good as Evans and even Evans had a more consistent jumper at Memphis than Lance at Cincy.

I agree on D he will be really good because he is physical and can be intimidating but that can be a gift and a curse. And like I said his demeanor will have an affect on that see: Kendrick Perkins.

Should stay in school

I watched him play all year seen some good thing but he is not ready to me. Not sold on his shooting ability at all. I like his handle and how he finishes with contact.

Now I don't agree that Evans

Now I don't agree that Evans is a better shooter than Lance Stephenson. Stephenson can shoot the ball decent, and is a threat shooting mid-range jumpers, he just lacks range. Evans jump shot is broke from just about anywhere.

And passing is debatable as well, but I'm not going to get into that. It's too close either way.

I am a big time Lance

I am a big time Lance Stephenson fan and I am hoping that the Magic will take him with the 29th pick. Stephenson has handles, driving and finishing ability, a solid mid range/off the dribble jump shot, and plays defense. The only things I don't like is that he is heavy turnover prone, range, and he can get tunnel vision. If he can get some range and doesn't go tunnel vision he could be the Evans of this draft class.

I could see Lance ending up

I could see Lance ending up in New York via trade before the start of the season. If the Knicks fail to sign one of the premium free agents they will need to make a splash of some sort to keep the fans happy. Lance is a hometown hero who could sell tickets. Not sure if he will be successful there but it wouldn't surprise me from a marketing standpoint. I still shake my head sometimes thinking about how different a situation the Knicks could be in if Curry had fallen to them...

Was a better shooter coming out of Kansas. Not as good as he is now, but much better than Lance.

Bill Walker he is not. I

Bill Walker he is not. I like Walker much more than Lance, but that's besides the point. Lance will be a steal if he falls anywhere past the 28th pick, in my opinion.
