With his upcoming free agency, what kind of contract should the Pacers give him? Personally, I wouldn't want him on my team. As good as his stats are and as well as he has played in games, I feel like he has a detrimental effect on this Pacers team. Westbrook can get away with similar shot-selection and ballhogging, but Westbrook has more talent. I just feel like Lance takes away from the team more than he gives, and I wouldn't want to give him more than 8 million a year and have him play more than 6th man minutes. Thoughts?
I've been thinking about this for a long time. The most the Pacers can offer him without going of the cap (which they never do) is 7 mil per for 5 years. Although he's a huge bonehead but super-talented, my feeling is there's such a supply of cap space in the free market this summer that some other team is going to offer him tyreke money 44mil for 4 years or iguodala numbers 4/48. Who would do it? I could certinaly see Marc Cuban throwing money his way or perhaps Danny Ainge both who can comfortablely offer him 11 per for 4 years. Indy would have to deal George Hill to be able avoid going over the cap. There's also the possiblity of the Lakers who have tons of cap space. It sure will be interesting, but in the end it's a business regardless of what larry Bird had done for lance stephenson's developement. Money always wins out in the end.
