I hope he can redeem himself and that Indiana will give keep him and guide him some. Everybody deserves a 2nd chance although they may not always deserve it. The main thing is he should have stayed in college and matured an extra year or 2. This is exactly the point most players don’t get, you can have the greatest skills but if you are not mature enough then you will fuck up and do some dumb shit. Every kid in Coney Island, every kid in the whole Brooklyn looks up to guys like Marbury, Telfair or Stephenson. They are examples and that should stay in the back of the head of these guys at all times.

All I can say is that IF, IF the story is true that he pushed a woman who was pregnant with his baby down a flight of stairs and then slammed her head to the floor, he could be past his prime by the time he gets out of prison. He deserves a second chance at life, but I think his right to life of stardom will rightfully pass him by.

That is IF the allegations are true. I’ll wait to hear the full story before judging the kid, but to even have your name attached to something like this makes you think twice.

So many teams now give a lot of faith and time to their interviewing of potential draftees and Portland under Kevin Pritchard with Coach MacMillan had a strict criteria where certain players didn’t get considered due to their attitude and behaviour.

Perhaps with players like Lance we can see why David Stern wanted the two year removed from High School draft criteria.
