Lakers/Clippers Rumor
I didn't make the rumor.
http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/story/_/id/9386386/chris-paul-dwight-...
It's the 2nd place I heard it.
The money does add up because next season blakes contract of almost 100(d.rose clause) will come fairly close to howards contract
I personally think its only good for clippers because to me bledsoe is very overrated. He shined with clippers the same way shannon did
for the lakers but he actually had a jump shot and can play d. Eric can only play D sticking one position.
He's not a starting point guard in the nba
The goal was to work this trade AND the Boston one too, or at least it seemed like it.
Otherwise trading for Dwight Howard would mean Lamar Odom would have to come back and start at the 4, or the Clips could go small with something like a Howard-Butler-Barnes-....yeah it wouldn't look too pretty.
Do you mean the Deandre Jordan plus someone else for Paul Pierce rumor?
Griffin+Bledsoe= $9mil next year.
D.Howard= $20 mil next year (or more).
Just to make a deal, the Clips would need another 6 million (at minimum) to send to the Lakers. I'm not sure what they'd have to send.
I'm sure if anybody will agree with me on this but I think DeAndre Jordan and Eric Bledsoe make more sense then Blake Griffin and Bledsoe. Bledsoe would at least solve the problems defending the point and showed promise as a playmaker (though I remain at little skeptic) and DeAndre Jordan is a poor mans Dwight Howard. Both are athletic 6'11 centers but Jordan is less inclined offensively. Its good for Kobe to pare with players that will fall inline like DeAndre Jordan. Dwight is a goofball who thinks he's better than he's worth at center. At the least DeAndre Jordan will cause less headaches and draw less attention than Howard.
Blake Griffin is a professional. If you're looking to get another star in the process of losing Dwight, if you can, yea... ok Griffin is your guy, but for a team like the Lakers that are ready to win now its going to take some roster retooling to fix Griffin and Gasol at power forward. Gasol's just too soft at center. Most likely they'll move him but to be honestly Griffins mostly a walking highlight reel. Had Chris Paul not come the Clippers they'd still be losing right now. Then you have to worry about losing Griffin in free agency with all the attention he'll get. They might be smarter to settle for DeAndre Jordan and win now.
I would do this in a heartbeat if I were the Lakers. There's at least a 50% chance Dwight leaves and Lakers get nothing, with this you turn Dwight into two young starters to have for the future. Blake is a better offensive player than Dwight, equally good rebounder, and underrated shot blocker, and still getting better. Dwight (if he can get back to 100% health and stay there) has gotten as good as he will be, he will never be a great offensive player like people thought he could develop.
Who hates the Dwight Howard for Blake Griffin & Erick Bledsoe trade more, the Lakers or the Clippers?
I don't see how they'd make the money work in the 1st place.
The Lakers don't want Howard to think he can leave and the Clips don't want people thinking Griffin can be had. I'd guess the Clips would hate this more.
