•Draft Ingram at number 2, A good young prospect that’ll take the place of Kobe, you must get kobe to mentor this kid immediately also get him to learn post moves and just about the game from him

    • With the 32nd pick the Lakers might take a chance on a big here maybe an overseas bug draft and stash for a season maybe the kide from China Zhou Qi or my 2nd round favorite Ante Zizic he’s very strong in the paint, runs the pick and roll to perfection, he’s a great fundamentally sound player who could contribute right away off the bench and would be a perfect complement to Larry Nance Jr

•The Lakers must find there starting Center and i believe they might make a big run for Whiteside and if they can’t get him they might go after Ezeli

    •Daft- 2nd Brandon Ingram

    •Draft- 32nd Ante Zizic

•Free Agent signings Whiteside, maybe Joakim Noah, Byimbo wouldn’t be a bad pick up especially with this playoff appearance, maybe eRozan depends on how he ends playoffs, go after Suns Jon Leuer, Nick Batum should be on there radar aswell, PJ Hairston would be a good off the bench add.

As much as I love the Lakers, Zizic will not be there at 32, book it. I have him in my lottery, and I think several teams have him too. Definitely not sliding past San Antonio.

I believe the lakers Board is simple. Ingram at #2. Best player available at 32. Then they will make pushes to sign the best players available in free agency. Try and sell them on playing for the lakers and pay them big money. Their season next year will depend on how well Ingram can play as a rookie, the jump Russell makes in his second year without Kobe and having a new coach, and then obviously what free agents they can get.

For the 2nd pick, I like Thon Maker (he should go higher), Timothy Luwawu(should go higher), Zou Qi (should go higher), and Caris LeVert. I think Maker and Luwawu go way higher. Qi could go from lottery to the 2nd round. LeVert might make some sense. Bus talked about adding one new rookie being enough. God knows when LeVert will be ready. Maybe not this year. They likely don’t have a pick next year and him being a lottery level player, they could sit him out this year and act like he’s their 2017 draft pick.

With the 2nd pick I will draft the best C available. There could be some good ones if everyone stays in and worst case scenario I take Hammond. I actually don’t think he will be available but by main target would be Bolomboy.

The 32nd pick, historically speaking, is likely going to be a player that the team wants to contribute right away. Either a Junior or Senior a la Luke Walton, Larry Nance, Jordan Clarkson, etc. Along with class, the 2nd selection will also affect this pick. If Ingram is the guy, they likely go big and go after AJ Hammons or Robert Carter. If the guy is Simmons, they’ll get another wing player. The most NBA ready wings at those spots are Paul Zipser and Malcolm Brogdon. Zipser is a 6’8 wing with solid all-around skills, kind of puts you in the mind of Lina’s Kleiza. Brogdon is a very good two-way shooting guard. He’s the kind of guy that’d be perfect to back up Clarkson and play a little SF.

Free agency should be all about getting in the right mix of veterans. They should shoot for the center spot to be filled. Look at guys like Whiteside, Biyombo, and Noah. Get a decent backup behind Russell. Norris Cole, Jeremy Lin, and Jordan Farmar are some names I wouldn’t be surprised to see, especially Farmar because of his Luke connection. I like the idea of PJ Hairston, maybe Jared Dudley. Just fill the roster out with some good energy for the young guys.

I was never a believer in Jim Buss’ self-imposed timeline. It seemed like lip service, and the team will likely not have a choice but to organically rebuild. There isn’t a trade to make for their pick if they wanted to, and even if it is, their package is nothing compared to that of maybe the Celtics or Bucks.

This season should be all about fun and continuity. The history of yesteryear is gone. The banners are up, but the lore is no more. These new few years should be about building the new LA.  Instead of one big superstar, this is a league of about three and a half working parts consistently affecting both ends of the floor. The Basketball Gods have given the Lakers a great chance to get that. If they look for a shortcut this time, it may put them back on the same path they’ve been fighting to get off of.
