Spurs2020ParticipantIf the lakers trade for carmello I am going to kill everyone…..
every time the lakers show any type of struggle it seems like the league conjures up some gift of a trade for the lakers (ala pau gasol, and now carmello)
It would be bad for the league, and another lopsided trade to lakers and send the nuggets to bottom of the conference for the forseeable future
Melo belongs on the nuggets or the knicks… he should stay in denver, but at least going to NY would balacne the conferences a bit more and create some great NY MIA drama in the east

The8thDeadlySinParticipantI have no opinion on the trade at all… I dont care one way or another if it happens..
BUT
It is kind of typical of a Spurs fan to hate on the Lakers…
BTW, I am not a Laker fan at all…

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantIt’s all good business. Aren’t you suppose to try to make your business better by any means?

I don’t think it might happen either.
But look at it this way, the offer of Andrew Bynum, some picks, and maybe Devin Ebanks is a way better offer than the Knicks trying to giving up Randolph, Fields, and Chandler. And Mitch Kupchak was behind the Pau Gasol trade, so why not trade for Melo?

Spurs2020Participantdamn straight its typical hahaha
Carmello is one of my favorite players, i would die if he wore purp and yellow…. ESPECIALLY if it was for a trade thats no better than what the knicks are offering

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantYou’re telling me that the trade of Chandler, Fields, and Randolph is just as good as the trade for Bynum and Ebanks? That’s ridiculous. Bynum is by far the better player and his potential puts him through the roof.
*If Carmelo was one of your favorite players, at least spell is name correctly.

Spurs2020ParticipantThe trades are about even in my opinion….
Bynnum plays like 30 games a year, no matter what his potential is who cares if he doesnt play… they already have a solid center in Nene… the knicks trade gives them excellent cap space to start building seriously, rather than just being mediocre and then deciding to rebuilt for real 3 years later and then battling to find cap space
also, if you really think spelling is relevant here then fine, its a chat room sorry for not spell checking

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantI’m just saying.. I never see somebody say they’re a "Coby" fan. Usually if you’re a fan of a certain player, you atleast know how to spell their name.
Bynum plays 50 games a year and Nene has said that he wants a trade.
Why do they have to rebuild 3 years later? Kenyon Martin’s contract expires, that’s 16mil off the books. JR Smith’s contract expires, another 6 mil. With Carter, Ely, Williams, Butch, and Forbes, that’s about another 5mil off the books. In total it’s 27mil off the books this offseason. Not to mention Nene probably will decline his player option and become a free agent, that’s another 11mil. Next year they decline the option on Billups, that’s ANOTHER 14mil. They are in a perfect position to start rebuilding.

Spurs2020Participantthey get just as much cash off the books with the knicks, and get proven role players that fit in denvers system, and arent building around a player thats never around in the playoffs, and has never played without kobe and pau

Moon RiverParticipantThe Nuggets have also been consistent in demanding quality 1st round pick(s) for Melo. The Lakers have none to give which is another argument against this happening. I am a Lakers fan and would love to see Melo in purple and gold, but don’t put great weight into this Denver/LA trade rumor.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantAndrew Bynum has more playoff experience and success than Chandler, Fields, and Randolph. combined. How can you even say Randolph is a proven role player? The dude can’t even play in the 2 easiest systems. It’s a lot more difficult to rebuild when all you have are role players. It’s way easier to rebuild with a good piece that has playoff experience and has played with star veterans like Pau and Kobe.
By the way, Andrew Bynum has only missed the playoffs once. Don’t act like it’s all the time.

mgreener_34Participant"Bynum plays 50 games a year"
Not really a great fact to point out when trying to make that argument pal. The reason this would upset me is that you would have three of the top players at their positions on one team. *and thats not including the Heat* Melo, Kobe, and Pau are all star players, and thats not including Lamar Odom. Atleast the heat have terrible role players, this is just play unfair if it goes down. A starting line up of Pau, Odom, Melo, Kobe, and Fish is scary enough without knowing that they Still have Barnes, Artest, and Blake coming off the bench. Ridiculous because Bynum’s not even healthy come playoff time anyways.

How can you even say that? Bynum has only missed the playoffs once. And the reason I said he played 50 games a season is because he tried to overexaggerrate and said Bynum only plays 30 games a year.

CodySLCParticipantAnd thats why the NBA has always been dominated by big markets for the most part. That includes the MLB also. I think its bad for the game. Their needs to be a set cap that teams cant go over at all period.

Theres a big difference between missing the playoffs, and playing in the playoffs 100% healthy. Something Bynum hasn’t done consistently man. He was hurt all of 08, and was unhealthy in 09 and 10…

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantYeah. I’m not saying Bynum is the healthiest player, but in all reality, this is the best trade available for the Nuggets. I’d rather take a chance on Bynum than to get Chandler, Fields, and Randolph.

natedogggParticipantim a lakers fan and id actually like to see them stick with the team we have.
We get Melo and there is more ego, not enough points to go around.
and when Bynum is healthy they cant be beaten with their length.
Please Lakers no trades.
PS. i hope Melo goes to NY
