The LA Lakers have signed two guys who played college basketball not far from the Staples Center… First, LA adds former UCSB center, Greg Somogyi who is Hungarian and stands 7’3”.. He wasn’t able to put up many stats in college so it’s a long shot he actually makes this roster…

They also add one of my least favorite players of recent memory, Reeves Nelson, who I always disliked even before SI leaked that infamous story pegging Reeves to be quite the bully… He always had the worst body language of any player i’d ever seen… that being said, LA can take a chance on him.

Reeves Nelson was 1 of my favorite players,while he was at UCLA..I was disappointed how things ended..I hope he’s dealt with his anger & bad attitude issues…He’s a borderline nba player,reports had im at 6’8,undersized for todays nba powerfowards…So there’s a 50/50 chance of him making the team….But sometimes if player can give a team something the team lacks,a coach will find a spot for him,if he’s willing to work hard,dont cause problems and listen….

Nelson gives the Lakers something they only got from Artest ,toughness,agressiveness,hustle,strength and he’s fearless…Nelson will dive on the floor for loose balls,use his body to draw charges,has a nice touch around the basket and his post game is underrated…

pretty tough players on that roster.  granted, jamison and gasol are absolute negatives in that department so maybe it evens out.

 I hope Reeves makes it, hes tuff and has a "David Lee" type skill set. good luck to him

 I was super excited to hear Reeves get the call. I doubt he makes he team, but their is a D-League spot waiting for him. Possibly next year when the roster isn’t so full. Pretty much based on everything Rude pointed out are the exact reasons I became a fan. Doesn’t hurt his case that he has range on his jumper to go with his  hard-nosed attitude.
