Tobe BryantParticipantDoes anybody think that Iman Shumpert will be a good fit for the Lakers? Seeing that Mike Brown is a defensive minded coach and Shumpert could be a terror to opposing PGs under the eye of both Brown and Kobe Bryant. There is a knock on his offense, but that is something that can be improved if he wants it to be.

Cardinal_FanParticipantIf he is willing to learn an be a sponge then what better situation!!! U have a kid with a very high ceiling if he continues to develope, an who better to learn the nuances of the game from then Kobe Bryant. The biggest knock on Shumpert is his shooting, but if he sees 1st hand how to work on his craft from 1 of the greatest scorers of all time it could be a motivating tool. He would also mature and learn how to be a professional in a 1st class history filled organization.

Chilbert arenasParticipantAnyone else see the similarities with Javaris Crittenton? Besides the fact they both went to Georgia Tech, they are both 6’4 point guards who jump out of the gym but have shaky shooting and decent court awareness. I was high on Crittenton at the time and thought he got a raw deal, so i think it would be great for lakers to get Shumpert in the 2nd round.

Hi its BenParticipantShumpert is 6’5.5 though. Almost 2 inches taller. Plus he weighed at 221, while Crittenton weighed in at 200.. a full 20 pounds lighter. Physically they are pretty different.

JNixonParticipantCrittenton was much smarter as a player than Shumpert though, and more of a PG. Shumpert is more of a SG than a PG to me. MUCH more. Shumpert is bigger and though, and he’ll probably be more willing to play SG than Crittenton was. One of the reasons Critt never stuck was because he didn’t want to be a SG.
