Lakers @ Nuggets

It's going to be a great game. Denver doesn't want to lose and JaVale McGee has been a series changer against the Lakers (never thought I'd say that in my entire lifetime).

Kobe has the sh!ts but I see him having a great game.

Back to back threes in transition for the Nuggets. 8-0 lead and the crowd is pumped! The Lakers are going to have to earn this win.

I had this series going 6 but I want to see it go 7. The Nuggets are just too exciting and Kobe would go into kill-mode in game 7.

This game

Is what happens when you give a team that believed they had no chance to win, confidence. 11 unanswered points. They came to play, and they truthfully believe they can beat these guys. A long with Kobe being sick, unless they recapture the dominance in the paint they had the first two games, Lakers will have trouble tonight.

McGee and Andre Miller are the reason why this has become a series. Portland fell apart this season because they failed to realize how valuable Miller's intangibles are.

The Nuggets are downright

The Nuggets are downright slaughtering the Lakers. Aside from Bynum and Kobe, the Lakers have completely and utterly given up. It'll take a miracle now, I wouldn't doubt Kobe though.

Kobe

Kobe definetely has the stomach virus. He is not sweating at all which shows how dehydrated he is from the diareah. Also although his shots are falling, he has less lift and is less fluid. I doubt hes faking...

Bynum is mentally soft. He acts like a child and gives up if things get difficult.

On another note, if the Nuggets win game 7 (which I don't think they will, Kobe will drop 50 if he has to), how exciting would a Nuggets/Thunder match-up be?

kobe's last game 7

You mean that game 7 where he played the Celtics back when they were the best defensive team in the nba. When despite his shooting struggles, he was the most important player in that game and willed his team to his 5th ring. Yah I remember that game

Didn't he have like 18

Didn't he have like 18 rebounds that game too? I mean, the guy did anything he could to get the W and like BruinSteve said, they were the best defensive team. Denver is nowhere near the defensive team that the Nuggets are.

Really? This is all sorts of awful. Best defesnive team or not, he sucked. Just because he's Kobe doesn't mean he can't suck. 6/24 with 2 assists 4 fouls and 4 turnovers isn't a good game no matter how you spin it. His team won despite him, it's like you didn't watch the game and just looked for something to say he did well, settling on 15 rebounds I'm assuming. Not to mention Boston was you know, missing their center and had the scrub version of Rasheed Wallace play 30 some minutes. But if you want to claim Kobe was anything but poor in that game, well that's your opinion.

I'm not saying he shot well...

I'm not saying he shot well, this was a defensive stuggle where both teams shot terribly. On the lakers only derrick fisher shot over 50%(on 6 shots). The rest of the team besides fisher and kobe shot 32%. In this type of game the key to winning a grind it out game is defense and rebounding. So you can't just dismiss kobe's 15 rebounds, and his defense on the two wings on the celtics(Pierce, and Allen) was excaptional. Combined they shot 8/29 with 4 assists and 7 turnovers. As a final point he was double teamed the whole game, so his teammates gave him the ball to bail them out. This led to multiple people guarding kobe and leaving his teammates to go for offensive rebounds(which is why the lakers had 23 to the celtics 8).

Those are some good points,

Those are some good points, but if I remember correctly Kobe spent most of his time on Rondo, or at least in the clutch and Artest was matched up with Pierce. I still don't think he played anywhere near a good game. He was incredibly ineifficient on offense and you're overrating his defensive impact. He played solid on Rondo (who had a good game) and what I remember Ray was sitting in a corner when Kobe was on him.

Yah, Kobe was guarding Rondo

Yah I remember now Kobe switched onto Rondo late in this series. Kobe's help defense(since he played off Rondo) was probably part of the reason Pierce and Allen struggled. Ray allen's shooting might also not have been stellar due to the fact he was the main person defending Kobe.

I'm not saying he wasn't good

I'm not saying he wasn't good in the series, I'm just saying that if this series goes 7 games it's not a sure thing Kobe is going to dominate. The last game 7 he played in; he played poorly (actually he has the last two game 7's he was in).

I suppose

We probably can't convince each other if his game 7 was poor or not, but we definetely both agree his shooting was poor. And obviously no one is a lock to play well on Saturday especially with so much pressure being a game 7.

Lakers are mentally weak.

Their gonna drop that game 7. I don't know how they will stop Ty Lawson. If Lawson struggles then LA can win. Mcgee has been solid I thought from the start a bad matchup for Bynum. Denver takes this because Lawson is going to kill them. Faried has shut down Pau. Kind of punking him.

I couldn't be more psyched for this game 7. I've become a really big Nugget fan. They're pure hustle and take really good shots while pushing the pace and playing entertaining basketball. I super hate the Lakers, too, so this should be really fun.

Sad... The Lakers still

Sad... The Lakers still haven't figured out how to defend point guards in the pick and roll. IF they can't handle Ty Lawson, how can they handle Russell Westbrook and *especially* Tony Parker and Chris Paul? Parker and Paul are absolute monsters in the high pick and roll.

And with Bynum acting childish, he isn't even protecting the rim. And Gasol? This sh*t again? Seriously... And people wonder why Kobe doesn't like passing them the ball. They don't bring it consistently every game.

The Lakers are the most frustrating team to watch. I hope the Nuggets run them off of the floor game seven. At least they play hard.

WE HAVE ONE PLAY...

I......NEVER.....THOUGHT.....I'D......SAY.......THIS......BUTTTTTTTTT.....METTA WORLD PEACE IS GOING TO HELP THEM MIGHTILY!!!!!! He actually plays great D on Gallinari, rebounds and makes unorthodox buckets when the Lakers needed. Now if you're going to point out how bad Kobe played in Game 7, then remind every one that Artest was absolutely magical on defense and offense in Game 7.

thats true, Artest had a

thats true, Artest had a terrible play-off run that he capped off with a very good performace that got them the victory and championship over the celtics.

im very very excited for Game 7. The momentum is at the nuggets' side, but homecourt advantage and the odds are still with the lackers. after two games, has bynum been humbled enough? will he come out with greater energy? im not saying he wont try, or he wont be approaching the game with that mind-set, but will he play harder without over thinking? i agree with the guy that said that Bynum is mentally soft. very accurate comment. i have yet to see that controlled and disciplined mind-set winners have. the ability to assess the situation and make the right play right away instantanously, almost like a reflex. to not get lost at the momment and keep a steady head on your shoulders when things are going bad or good. i believe thats what other people call as having the edge. does he have it?

we'll find out soon enough. Game 7 here we go.

Nothing is being said about

Nothing is being said about Mike Brown... The Nuggets have switched up their defense and the Lakers aren't making the right adjustments offensively.

The Lakers need to make huge adjustments offensively, defending the high pick and roll... And then just bring more energy. Once again, another teams bigs are bringing more energy than them. Other than Jordan Hill, not one Lakers big is playing with energy.

i dont know about others, but

i dont know about others, but i expected this of Mike Brown. since cleveland, he would be a great defensive coach and it looks like, leaves the offense to the "freedom" he gives his star player. given that the lakers have been a bad defensive team the past few years, i liked it that they were going to address their biggest weakness. i guess the thought that Mike's team defense while having Kobe handle the offense isnt as good in the west as it was in the east when Brown had LeBron.

as for game 6, there were a number of things obviously the lakers sucked at. They arent hitting open shots and are passing up open jumpers which allows the nuggets to double bynum every time he touches it. Pau is just playing sorry. They are playing terrible transition defense. But give a lot of credit to denver. They were on fire in game 6 and when corey brewer started the 4th quarter by making three striahgt jumpers, one of them an off balnce three that reminded me of rex chapman, i just figured it wasnt the lakers night. Hopefully the nuggets arent as hot in game 7 and ron makes his shots and adds defense since devin ebanks has done nothing as the starter.

i dont know about pau. Im still trying to stay positive and hope we win game 7 and move on from there. Maybe he gets it going and ill be just like most fans and sing a different tune the second he puts up back to back 20-10 games. BUt if they do lose tommorow, i would love to see something, anything. I actually like bynum and while he cashed in game 5, i did think he tried hard in game 6, the nuggets bigs didnt beat him, it was the gaurds nailing jumpers. So basically keep kobe bynum and artest and see what you can get for the rest.
