Ok so with another Lakers loss & now sitting at 2-13, do they look ahead to the draft ? And if they should who should be on their scouting radar ? What trades are on the table if any ? Who should they place on the trading block to add a better fitting piece to their roster ?

Ben Simmons would be a nice addition but what if the Lakers don’t get the top pick who do they go after; Skal Labissiere, or Jaylen Brown, i like them both who would be considered the BPA? And who would fit the team the best out of the two ? And who do you trade Hibbert & Bass for ? What is their worth ?

They have been looking towards the draft by default.  Ultimately I don’t think they will be able to finish with a worse record than the 76ers so ultimately them keeping their pick will come down to a little more than a coin toss.

Anyone in the top 3 will be a welcome addition to the Lakers.  Simmons, Skal or Jaylen.

They have little to no trade material.  Maybe Lou Williams holds some value to a contender looking for scoring off the bench.  Not really sure I see it though.

Unless of course they use addition by subtraction.

Should be a long uneventul year until the lottery.  Lakers will need some luck.

Hibbert should should have some trade value. ESPN ran an advanced + or – statistic showing Hibbert has the best + or – on the team. He is a very useful player on a team that isn’t a run and gun team. Taking his salary might be an issue.

Nick Young has been solid this year, playing off the ball, not hogging it, playing defense, and hitting a good percentage. He could be traded, just not for much. I would have said Lou Williams before the season started, but he’s been awful.

As for the draft, they should take Simmons if they can. Skal and Randle sounds like a defensive problem. I love Jaylen Brown, but he needs the ball in his hands like Russell, Clarkson, and Randle. For them, I like Brandon Ingram. Outside shooting, driving, great defensive potential, and can play within a system. He’ll just take a little time.

From what I’ve seen from Brandon Ingram, I don’t see him being taken that high, especially in the; 1, 2, or 3 range. Now Jaylen Brown looks like a flat out scorer, he has some highlights that damn there gives you faith in him to be an all star. Brown is a really nice piece at the 3 especially on the fast break, he’s kind of like a bigger version of James Harden, "SHOWTIME". & then there’s Labissiere, he’s a big that can run the floor; shoot, rebound, block shots, the only knock on him, is his size really. But team are starting to go with more of a thinner center that can run so what would you do ?

I think they should work on a trade with; Nick Young, & Roy Hibbert, and maybe throw-in Ryan  Kelly.

I agree that Jaylen Brown looks lie a future all-star. I’m a big fan of this class. I think Skal is a PF. He’s like Okafor around the basket, plus a jumpshot. But the way he gets tossed around by players that weigh less than him makes me concerned about whether or not he has the tenacity to play center. You can hit the weight room and gain weight (despite the naturally close together shoulders), but even today’s center needs a lot more tenacity (which is harder to teach). He’ll be fine, I just think that’ll be at PF, where Randle plays.

I agree that Ingram’s stock has dropped, but I think it’ll be backup by the end of the season.

The Lakers could end this year as the worst team in the NBA, and still have a 36% chance of falling to #4 in the Lotto and losing thier Pick.

You do not look forward to that.

and what is with all the Lakers fans Bashing Kobe, Scott, Etc..

    hoping the team loses,

seriously how messed up do fans have to be to want thier team to lose?

Sorry 76ers fans, ya’all didnt get much choice.

Simmons and randle would be an interesting pairing and I’m not sure you could play them together. They both essentially play the same position and operate from similar areas of the floor. Neither can shoot from outside and neither is a rim protector. I think Simmons projects as the better player but if they do draft him they might wind up having to eventually move randle.

The Lakers should handle what they can handle at this point. They need to play their young guys more and if Scott isn’t interested perhaps they should show him the door. If they can deal any of their vets for a first round pick then they should seriously consider it.

The Lakers are in a tough spot with only a top 3 protected pick that they easily could lose out on. Even if they finish with the worst spot they’d have the best percentage chance of finishing with the fourth pick.

For the Lakers fans it’s a bit scary if they fall out of the top 3. But i believe the best fit out of this years draft for the Lakers is Jaylen Brown once Kobe leaves they’ll need a 3 that can run the floor shoot the 3 and play D i seen Jaylen Brown do all this things so far in his young college career

If Lakers do get a top 3 pick, I believe they take BPA. The only guy who may not fit in with the current roster is Murray given they have Russell already in situ but if I really wanted to I could make a case for him.

I don’t see them passing on Simmons, Skal would be a nice fit next to Randle as he’d spread the floor and his finesse game would compliment Randle’s athleticism. Jaylen Brown is on their door step at Cal so he’d be a nice fit too.

Brandon Ingram, I haven’t seen that much of but he looks an interesting prospect even if he is only 200lbs, hwe could possibly play SG initially like KD did when he was first drafted.

Dragan Bender would not seem an obvious choice for the Lakers if they had a shot at NCAA guys but he could be next year’s Porzingis and if the Lakers saw something they liked, I’m sure they would have a long hard look at him at the least.
