i like kyrie and i do think he should go number 1 over derrick williams, butsaccording to skip bayless hes a better passer shooter and player then wall and rose comming into the draft and will be better going forward in the future. honestly i think this draft is very very weak and he will be the number one pick but as a overall player he is not messing with rose or wall and athletically he cant touch them, but we will see i wanna see him dominate on the next level before before people start crowning him as the next great pg

He is not a better player than wall or rose was coming into the draft..  Kyrie hasn’t proven leadership on the court like Wall or Rose did/does..What do you mean he is a better passer? Wall is a 10x better passer and is a better passer than rose. Wall will be top 3 in assists every year in a couple years. Rose is even a better passer or at least with what we have seen from irving.  . He is no where near there level of taking it to the rim as Rose or Wall.  Rose and Wall tear him up athletically.. Wall and Rose were the clear cut no.1’s in much stronger drafts.  I want to see Kyrie succeed to but he is no where near the level of Rose or Wall. When you start saying stuff like "Kyrie is a better passer shooter and player than wall and Rose" no one will take you seriously.

There is a greater possibility of Kanter being a top five center and Derrick Williams being a top 5 center than there is for Irving being a top 5 point guard.

Yeah Skip is an Irving fanboy. I didn’t watch today’s topic about him saying Irving will be better than Wall or Rose, but I’ve seen him talk about Irving before, and some of his arguments don’t make sense. I have yet to see why Irving is a better passer than Wall or Rose. Wall averaged more assists in College than Irving (even though Irving had a limited sample size), and averaged 8.3 as a rookie, and I don’t think Kyrie will be able to do that as a rookie. Rose also averaged slightly more assists in college than Irving. Rose averaged 7.7 this year, and he would’ve averaged more if he didn’t have to take on the scoring burden.

And another thing I don’t get is when he says that Wall and Rose play too much like 2-guards. Wall averaged 8.3 assists and constantly showed me that he’s a pass-first PG when I watched him play. He had to kind of take on the scoring burden when all his scorers/shooters got injured though. And he calls Rose a "SG in a PG’s body", but I disagree. Rose is a PG, but he was forced too score so much because He didn’t many other shot creators on his team. He’s also an underrated passer.

I think Irving will be a good player, but I highly doubt he becomes better than Rose or Wall. I’m mot even sure he becomes an All-Star.

I’m not even sure that Irving is that much better than Knight, Kemba, or Jimmer.

The draft combine results got me thinking that Irving could be a very risky pick.

    Here are some facts:

    1) He missed most of the season last year – question about his healthy, toughness, etc.  Although he had a nice game in his return in the NCAA tournament

    2) His body fat was over 10%, extremely high for a guard – does he have the work ethic to keep himself in shape?  Would he be tough enough to fight through injuries?

    3) He didn’t go through any workout – either he’s still not 100% (hence can’t workout to cut down on body fat) or he has something to hide.  At this point, I am no longer convinced that he’s much better than Derrick Williams.  I think he has more upside, but Derrick Williams is more the sure thing at the moment.

I expect him to be a very good PG, but I wouldn’t be surprised that Brandon Knight, Kemba Walker, or Jimmer Fredette turn out to be the better players in a few years.

Therefore, I am against the Raptors for giving up too much if they do plan to move up. (e.g. two of DeRozan, Ed Davis, #5).  I would rather the Raptors take a chance on one of Enes Kanter, Bismack Biyombo, Brandon Knight, or Jonas Valanciunas.

Irving is easily a better passer than Rose, not sure about Wall, he averaged second most assists all-time for a rookie this year I believe. Irving definitely has the passing gene, or at least some of it, his basketball IQ is extremely high, I’m excited to see how that will translate in the NBA. Irving is also a better shooter than both of them, I don’t think that can be argued against. Watch any Duke game and you can see that the kid can shoot, whereas Wall and Rose were valued because of their off-the-charts athleticism, which Irving does not have. That being said, I expect both Rose and Wall to have better careers than Irving, who will be an impact player, but will likely have difficulty making an all-star team because the pg position is so loaded (I do think he will be an all-star caliber player though).

Skip Bayless said that Kyrie Irving has equal quickness to Wall and Rose, and said that Derrick Rose and Wall are undersized SG’s today on Twitter. The man just says things for shock value.

I do think Irving will be a high-level starting PG in the NBA though. He’s a really good player. I’m not ready to say who he’s better than and stuff because he barely played in college, much less the NBA, but I do think he can be an upper-echelon guard in the NBA from what I’ve seen if he can stay healthy.

Irving is a better shooter than those 2, but is not even in the same category athletically or passing wise. Rose may not average the most assists, but he runs the Bulls offense really well, and Wall is just a great passer.
