There is a repost that Kyrie is not happy in Cleveland and would prefer to play some play else. The question or questions I ask are: is he the problem due to his style of play( not distributing the ball), is lebron just a bad teammate, what could they realistically get for him or what point guard or wing player would be a better fit that makes them better???

Lebron taking over ballhandling duties from one of the best ballhandlers in the NBA. I would guess that hes not happy with that. I haven’t watched many Cleveland games but Lebron does have a reputation of turning players into spot up shooters or play finishers rather than allowing them to create. I think a great destination for Kyrie would be Milwaukee. He is a great shooter and im sure he would be willing to facilitate more with the weapons they have there. He would also be the closer there and that team would definitely be one of the best in the East.

Lebron has started his decline, and is very unhappy with it.  I would look for him to deflect more and more blame to make up for the fact that he is no longer the singular player you want to help you win a game seven.  I think it will get way uglier before it gets any better.

The reason hes upset and ill blame it on experience and hes very young, Reason being if Lebron doesnt come back to Cleveland this dude is not carrying the cavs to the playoffs, i dont care how weak the east is or was, I feel that right now as a young player with all the endorsements and media attention and as a former number one pick he feels that hes a top scoring option, which yes he is. I honestly feel that Irving would strive in a brad stevens system where his defensive flaws would be masked in stevens schemes. Flat out Cavs cant protect his lack of defensive awareness. Again i feel that he is a selfish player and his relative lack of experience is to blame, If the cavs want to win they need to do a better job protecting his weaknesses if they want to succeed with their current team, They have way too many streaky shooters. I dont care what anyone says, Lebron had a way better chance of succeeding with Miami, although bosh has been dealing with some very serious medical issues. For the cavs to succeed they need to get rid of Love or Irving or atleast make one of them come of the bench which is pretty unlikely to happen.

Kyrie is a selfish, immature player that wants to be the man of the team even if they have one of the worst records in the league which is what he did before Lebron got there. Now that he has a chance to win something and make play-offs he is crying and wants to leave the team. That is so selfish and unprofessional. I am definitely not a fan of kyrie and I wish they have traded him before the deadline. He has fancy handles and has games where he makes shots but he is not a good defender at all and he is not a good passer or teammate. Leave any time now kyrie just don’t go to the Knicks.

I agree with this. He wants to be the man and be the number 1 option. The only problem he is not HOF / elite or a good leader or teammate.

He will never win being a first option, to win a championship he has to play within a team and be the 2 or 3 option.

His attitude reminds me of Melonoma – he just wants the media attention and to get good stats. He doesn’t care about winning….

He would be happy in Philly putting up 30ppg and winning 10 games a season.

Kyrie is also one of the most injury prone players in the league…..

Honestly, Irving coming of the bench would really balance out the scoring issues that them three have, lebron and love would get the shots that they both want, and let Irving come of the bench and carry that second unit, He would get the touches that he wants and it will solve the problem they have, in all honesty there bench is trash.

They average 27 ppg off their bench which is 3rd last in the league wouldnt Irving atleast boost that statistic. If their keeping this team intact atleast do something to balance out the second unit. This is where experiene is a factor in terms of comparing Irving to iguodala who would a legitimate starter on a lot of teams, not saying hes a scorer but an effective starting 2-3, comes off the bench and is effective. Again, he wasnt very open to it in the beginning, but once they started to win that took care of everything. For real though Cavs are not winning a championship with Irving as a starting 1 guard im sorry.

and you and I will both get a lot of negs on this because people enjoy his flashiness and dribbling but he is not a good point guard and he doesn’t want to win.

I realize Gobert & the Greek were better options in 2013 but nobody knew…… Noel was the consensus #1 if he were healthy so that’s more realistic…. That would be a really exciting team….. Would Clev have been better in the long run if Lebron never returned???

Irving at PG, Wiggins at SF, Thompson at PF, Noel at C, – that’s an exciting team & they would have been looking for an SG & probably picking around 8 – 12 in the 2015 Draft … Very good chance they’d have taken SG Devin Booker w. their 2015 pick…… That’s a Very exciting young team….

w/ Golden State looking invincible…….. & barring a catastrophic injury……. GSW might be on the verge of a 3 or 4 year run….. If you are a Cleveland Cavs fan….. & you could go back & make those picks & decisions….. Which team would you rather have? …..Which gives Clev a better chance at a Ring?

If Lebron didn’t come back, I think Irving and Wiggins would be a great fit together – Wiggins has some instincts, but doesn’t have that lead-scorer mentality yet, whereas Irving needed someone who was willing to D up, hit open shots and play off him.

Instead, Kyrie got Lebron, who takes the ball out of his hands, hurts spacing, has way too much pull within the organisation and barely plays D anymore.

It got Irving to the Finals, sure, but I think Lebron’s slide will be dramatic and with how strong the Warriors are looking, the Cavaliers’ window to win a title came too early.

Would have been better for Cleveland to keep Wiggins, give Lebron a polite "no thanks" and give Blatt a real chance at bringing out the best in the team, so they could have a real shot in a few years when the Warriors will have run out of gas, the Spurs will have slowed down and the Thunder probably be dismantled.

Just my opinion, but I’d be frustrated if I was Irving too, because I think he could have taken a team with Wiggins to the playoffs last season, even if they wouldn’t have made the Finals, it would have been a better shot at eventually winning a chip, instead of mortgaging their future for a declining Lebron.

Its rare for me to be critical of a fellow Aussie…but Irving is over rated. Worse yet…he over rates himself. I really dont think he helps the Cavs win anymore than when Mo Williams or Delly started.

Its a PGs league…and hes not top 5 in his position. Hes in the next group with IT4, Bledsoe, Knight, Jackson etc.

A PG has 3 jobs..distribute the ball, play defense and score. He does 1 of those things well.

Additionally…scoring is his strength on a team that doesnt really need it. They need defense and ball movement…which he doesnt provide enough of.

You put him on Steph Curry and its game over.

I think the answer is obvious, a ball needy or ball dominant player in Irving will struggle playing alongside another ball-dominating player (LeBron) Factor in K Love wants/needs the ball so much and it makes for a lot of unhappy players. There is only on basketball.

Funny thing is I bet Cleveland still makes it to the Title series.

The Cavs are on the verge of imploding. If they don’t win the title this year or next year or worse they get beat early in the playoffs I see the current roster being shaking up to say the least. I haven’t watched enough Cavs to confidently say it’s 1 player or the other that’s hurting their chemistry. I do know Lebron is a great player, Kyrie is a legit stud and K Love was bordering to be a top 5 player while in MN.  That tells me the  chemistry isn’t working. I’m sure they will trade 1 or 2 of their main guys if this year doesn’t  work out. I’ve always thought Kyrie would be a gear fit in Minni playing with Wiggins ( as mentioned above) and Rubio played great with Love. I’m not saying a trade between Rubio for Kyrie would happen( maybe a draft pick thrown in?) but it’s one of several trade options the Cavs may make.

This always happens. Cavs loses 2-3 straight games the media blows up a story of some sort. And it was coming from Stephen A Smith, how unreliable a source could that get. Stephen A just stirring up controversy like he usually does, it’s sickening.

instead of taking blame as he was FLAT OUT TORCHED by Kyle Lowry  then next game he gets smoked with a chance to show some leadership with lebron sitting out. He is pouting. Sad but true. How bout Kyrie spend some time learning to defend your postion. Im all for the roster shake up.. The peices do not fit well and the commemt to be a champion is not there. K Love and Kyrie talk about wanting to win a championship but want to do it there way.. Haha you see where they where before Lebron. for all the points K love and Kyrie scored before lebron not one of them mattered.not a single point. They are having problem with the constant media attention also they fact that you get ever teams best shot when you play on a lebron james team. GROW up or ship out.. period.

I’ve always been critical of Kyrie.  The man has some of the most natural basketbal talent in the league, but really has a terrible attitude.  Instead of changing his game to adapt to the situation in Cleveland where they have a legitimate chance to be in the finals again and win a ring, he’s pouting and wants to be traded.  I’ve always thought that Kyrie wants numbers over wins and this is pretty much a prime example of that.  He’s playing with one of the greatest players of all-time.  I remember when Lebron stated he was coming back to Cleveland and everybody was wondering how him and Lebron would play together since they both are used to having the ball in their hands.  Cleveland makes the finals, albeit it without Kyrie.  A lot of it probably isn’t really Kyrie’s fault because that’s just the kind of player he is and is unlikely to ever change.  I think iif the Cavs can get a true point guard with a team mentality that gets others involved and plays lockdown defense, they should make the trade in a heartbeat.  Basically the exact opposite of the kind of player Uncle Drew is.

Guys please… HE DID NOT SAY HE WANTED TO BE TRADED NOR IS HE POUTING. The Cavs lose 2-3 games then out of nowhere suddenely now he wants to be traded?? C’mon, Nbadraft.net users are one of the most intelligent basketball users anywhere, we should at least know by now if media spits BS or not. If the Cavs then go on a 5-win streak, then suddenley we all forget this news ever was reported.

This news is coming from Stephen A Smith from all people, who always wants to grab the attention of those ignorant and unintelligent fans who will believe a tasty, controversy-stirring newsbit without hesitation at the expense of a star player.

Remember the time Kyrie also "wanted to be traded" or "wanted out of Cleveland" that year Mike Brown was coaching them? All types of BS was being reported because they were losing more games than expected. What does Kyrie do? He keeps quiet about the situation, doesn’t say anything dumb and resigns with a 5-year contract. Please guys, we should all know by now this news is all media bullshit trying to make a story out of nothing.

Glad to see someone looking at all perspectives. All this Irving hate is sickening. Yes he needs to improve his defense and distributing but that will come with time. This kid went from not making the playoffs, to I need you to help me win  a title right now. That is crazy. Winning is a gradual process, not overnight. It took Jordan seven years to win a title at the age of 28, Irving is 23.

Somebody has to be the scapegoat for Lebron not winning as usual and it will be Love or Irving. He has flaws but he is a great young player and all you live in the moment fans, Irving is farther along at this age than Hall of fame pgs Like Steve Nash, or Gary Payton and Even the Amazing Steph Curry who was almost trade to the Bucks was not as good as Irving at 23. Cut the kid a break, because if you are looking for him to be John Stockton l, forget about it. He is a scorer at heart and he has to learn to balance distributing and scoring
