As a big UCLA fan last year, I personally think Kyle Anderson is very overrated and he is nowhere near ready to be a 1st round pick in this upcoming draft. As I watched almost every UCLA game last year since I get the Pac-12 Network, I realized how inaccurate those high school rankings are. Don’t get me wrong he has great talent it’s just that he is not very athletic, he is very lazy on defense and his nickname “Mr Slo-Mo” actually fits him in a bad way. He is very slow like his nickname and he would get tortured in the NBA right now. He can handle to ball greatly for a player 6’9 but he still is not a full time point guard not even at the college level and he can score too and get to the basket but never on a fast break. His outside shot is not very consistent especially for a small forward and he would get bullied around at the NBA level if they put him at the power forward. Like I said he does have talent and I do see him potentially being a four year guy who could get drafted somewhere but the guy on UCLA with the most NBA potential is not Kyle Anderson, Jordan Adams is the guy on UCLA with the best shot of making the NBA.

Jordan Adams can not only shoot pretty consistent but attacks the basket very aggressively. He even outplayed Shabazz a number of times last year. He has good size for the NBA but at the same time he is over weight for a shooting guard. If he could improve his body this offseason I see him being a sleeper in either the 2014 or 2015 draft. With Shabazz now being gone, that gives way more shots for Adams to take and I am expecting him to become the leader for the Bruins next year.

I disagree on Anderson. He’s going to be a sophmore and is a 6’9 PF who rebounds and passes very well. Lacks great shooting and quickness but has a great bball IQ. He has potential.

Adams can play, he may not be an athlete or flashy, but he’s very good. He’s really underrated.

Anderson to me is a taller, slower Evan Turner…not bad for a guy drafted in the 20’s or so but he isn’t a lottery talent in my mind.

I’d like to see if Kyle undergoes some sort of physical transformation with an offseason conditioning program before I write him off as a top prospect (talking at least a teens prospect). His body looked like he had never lifted a weight before in his life. If he comes back looking similarly soft then I’ll be right there with you.

watched almost evry ucla game that was televised nationally. Adams is clearly the better player at the moment. he intensity combined with better scoring outweighs anderson’s passing and scoring combined for me. i know evrybody love kyles passing, but he does commit critical turnovers.( 3.5assists-2.1 turnovers per game) not ideal for a point forward. i agree he could use some weight room action, but to me its starts with fundamentals. He is clearly a smart player but you need brains with skill to be as good as people perceive his ceiling to be. Jumper needs to be a priority .211% from 3. Moving forward if he can develop a jumper then his hopes of being a productive nba 3 are even closer. Fro evryone seeing him as a 4 i do not see it he like to hold the ball and dribble on the perimeter to much for a four, plus he is small and no post moves. I do hope he develops a jumper though much more respect for guys like anderson who play with their basketball talent’s and intelligence more then innate athletic gifts, at the end of the game when evryone’s tired its easier to outthink some one who can only run and jump.
