Wow, Kris Dunn will definitely be fun to watch this year.  He will be the showcase talent on an otherwise unremarkable Providence squad.

Dunn has a couple of major limitations: cannot take care of the ball, and cannot finish.  He has a high TO % per 40, and for a point guard wannabe, this is bad.  He also finishes a low percentage of shots in the paint.  For a guy with his strength and athleticism, this is a red flag.  His inability to finish may be due to his rather unfortunate injury history requiring surgeeries to his shoulder, and this may be affecting his desire to bang down low for the finish.  He may be worried about reinjury when driving.  Understandable, but again a red flag.

Injuries have plagued Kris Dunn, and I know that the major draft sites have him as a mid-lottery pick, I suspect he will be picked lower based on injury concerns.

As far as POY?  Sure it is possible but it is wayyyy too early to start talking about that for him.  He is 21 and will be 22 by the time the draft rolls around, but because of injuries his real first year was 2014-15.  It’s not like he is an experience 4 year senior leader kind of guy.  He definitely has first round talent, but he is unproven as a leader and a winner at the collegiate level.  Mostly because of injury, but still…

Ben Simmons on the other hand is way overhyped.  He will have to be way better than the number 2 college player to justify all the hype thus far.  Remember how hyped Andrew Wiggins was, and he basically had an unremarkable year at Kansas.  I bet Simmons has a good year at LSU, but I bet he will disappoint given the stratospheric expectations that he, and all around him, have been building up.

I suspect guys like Kyle Wiltjer, Anthony Gill, Denzel Valentine, Georges Niang, Melo Trimble, etc.. to have a shot at it depending on how well their teams play.
