Tim49461ParticipantThere is disagreement on consulting Kobe Bryant before hiring a new coach for the LA Lakers. If the Lakers hire a new coach without consulting Kobe and is displeased. Do you see him demanding a trade?
What is his value and what teams do you think would make a play for him?
Pistons could be a fun option but I think teams that are closer to contending would be an only option.

OverTimeCrunkParticipantKobe is a Laker no matter if he plays a little or a lot next season, or what coach they get. I don’t see him being traded because of course the Lakers would ask for way to much. And I doubt any key free agents will be headed there. Kobe will play over seas in two years or will take some front office job with the Lakers in two years. Lakers will be rebuilding through free agency and the draft for at least 5 or more years. Even though they don’t have draft picks because of the Steve Nash trade Lol. I for one enjoy seeing the Lakers fall apart lol

Memphis MadnessParticipantPhil Jackson, Derek Fisher, Kobe, and Pau in New York.
Carmelo, Amare, Nash, a lottery pick, and George Karl in LA.

llperezKobe didn’t have any say on the mike brown or dantonni hires either. He said he would like a say, but the gm said he won’t. I doubt we hear anymore about it. Kobe isn’t demanding a trade over this.

ProudGrandpaParticipantI’m glad the Lakers are taking the hard line here. No point in having a guy with only a few years left in the tank help dictate who the coach will be that is expected to lead the Lakers for the long term if all goes well.
