Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantAnybody else thought it was pretty cool of Kobe Bryant to stop Craig Sager from asking Melo questions during the All-Star agme? Craig Sager went to the West bench and asked Melo more about his trade rumors and Kobe said "He’s not allowed to answer those questions, big brother rules" or something like that. I thought it was a nice gesture of Kobe to do that and to let Melo enjoy himself during the All-Star weekend.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantYeah, there was an interview with LeBron and Kobe after they won gold in ’08. Kobe was asked who was his closest friend during the Beijing Olympics and he said Carmelo was his best friend during the olympics.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantOf all the bonds formed, Kobe and Carmelo’s might be the tightest.
"He’s like a brother to me," Kobe said. "I love him. We spend a lot of time together. He was the one I’m closest with on the team."
Kobe is definitely the big brother. He has set a higher standard. Although this has been a breakthrough playoffs for Carmelo, Kobe has a slightly higher scoring average (28.4), even though it feels as if he isn’t having his best postseason.

omphalosParticipantCraig Sager came off looking like a bit of an a-hole after this weekend. From ripping Cousins, to persistently annoying Carmelo Anthony to the point where Kobe had to step in, I’m finding it hard to see why he needs to be involved with broadcasting.
Great move by Kobe though.

NYK2010ParticipantYeah I also heard Kobe and Mello are best friends.
TNT needs to hire Jim Gray to do these interviews get rid of Craig Seger or put him in a smaller role.

flyboyParticipantAnd he being great friends with Melo you can see why he would step up to the plate for him. Sager was very annoying during the All-Star weekend, but he’s a reporter, and his shtick is basically being "out there". So it is what it is. CP3’s answer was very funny.

Mr. ChicagoParticipantI was thoroughly impressed with Kobe this weekend. Espcially during his news conference when he continually praised the younger players, like Durant and Griffin. He gave a great interview.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI used to think Craig Sager was somewhat amusing, but now he’s become extremely annoying.

OhCanada-ParticipantI agree Indiana, like what he said about DeMarcus Cousins at the rookie sohpmore game. I forget the exact quotes but he hinted thoughts on his suspensions, an hinted to his negative behaviour during Walls MVP presentation. Sager needs to know his roll.

The lake show2Can’t blame Sager too much because that’s his job to ask those type of questions. I’m pretty sure he would like to not ask those questions but that’s what he is ordered to do and if he doesn’t they will find someone who will.
