How come kobe gets no love from Philly the so called city of Brotherly Love they had the #1 pick in 1996 and they chose Iverson I dont blame them but they seen kobe played his whole high school career and he gets no love from them and he goes 13th and they called him arrogrant, glamorus, sellout, etc…… i went to Philly 2 years ago for the summer with my uncle and kobe gets no love at all this was when Tyreke was heading to Memphis they give him more love thankobe and he was unproven at the time. I just want to hear yall thoughts on this.

Here’s E60 short documenatary on the subject:its actually very good

I heard it’s because he’s not from the inner city. That lower merion is more on the outside where more wealthy familys live so they don’t consider him one of them. Couple teams skipped over Kobe though. And I would have picked iverson as well at the time. No one knew Kobe would become one of the best ever. I’m sure Charlotte would have kept him or got alot more then valde for him

Same things gonna happen to Lebron now everytime he plays in Cleveland but probably so much worse because he actually betrayed Cleveland and just abandoned them, Philly just hates Kobe because he went straight to the NBA which is the stupidest thing I ever heard and makes no sense, plus he and the Lakers killed the Sixers in the Finals.

it’s mostly becasue he would take it to the sixers and iverson and like true fans, they stuck up for their own team/players and booed the ish out of kobe. It actually seemed to piss them off when he boast about how it felt good to play in his hometwon when he played in philly, the boos would get even louder when he would say that.

lol. Lebron didn’t betray cleveland. He was a free agent. And this is a business. He owed them nothing. They lucky he didn’t leave after his rookie deal ended. Also they were booing Kobe even before he went pro when he’d play in the inner city
