CoolidgerParticipantJeremy Lin is struggling, and I have a feeling it’s gonna be blown out of proportion.
The kid had to come down to earth at some point, but i’m not ready to right off his great play. So he has a somewhat off night, alot of players do.
I have a feeling he’s going to be critisized for shooting too much though.

aamir543ParticipantHe had an off shooting night, but still got his points. More importantly, the Knicks won.
Lost in everything, is that this really in thory every Knicks fan’s worst nightmare.
Losing Amare and Anthony for 4 games, hile being 9-15, at the start of them missing games, this si somthing that the Knicks really wanted to avoid, and I don’t think we’ve ever seen a city with two top 15 players, at 13-15, but yet at the same time having the whole city and fans absolutely juiced at the same time, it’s unbelievable.

TallmanNYCParticipantYeah, Lin showed some of his limitations. He got blocked a few times, including a huge block by, I think, Beasely. He shot a poor percentage. But, basically, he had to score again tonight for the team to win and Rubio is a pretty solid defender. Bibby played and it was terrible. Knicks fans only had to sit through 16 minutes of that and got rewarded with 3 points and 0 assists. Imagine if we had to endure 30 minutes of that. The best thing Lin does is keep Bibby and Douglas on the bench.
Lin set up the game tying 3 from Novak and then ran an Iso with score tied to draw a game winning trip to the free throw line. He lead the Knicks in scoring, again, and he lead them to a victory, again. 5 in a row now. It is Linsanity! Even if you saw some of the limiations, I have to say that the legend continues to grow.
But really, he is saving the Knicks season. This little run while Amare and Melo are out may have just guaranteed the Knicks a playoff spot. It was looking like the team couldn’t even pull that off a week ago.

RafterParticipantLin was tired, he was very much stat padding in the second half, when you take twenty four field goal attempts, it won’t be hard to score twenty points, which makes it look on the surface like the Linsansity will continue. Having said that, he did hit the crucial free-throw which shows he belongs as a starter. Teams are starting to figure him out, driving and absorbing contact seems to be Lin’s most threating offensive weapon, the T’Wolves zoned as soon as Lin got the ball and demanded that Lin would beat them with his jumpshot.
It’s been such a whirlwind of inhuman performances that being tired is acceptable but when Carmelo and Amare come back, he won’t be taking twenty shots a game, his playmaking skills are good, probably enough to be the Knicks starting Point Guard. If he is to maintain the volume of shots, the Knicks are going to have to run or Landry and Chandler would have to minimize the shots they take.
It’ll be very interesting to see how Lin adjusts when those two come back.

HitsterParticipantThe Knicks can certainly play the uptempo D’Antoni offence when they get STAT and Melo back, I think they will need to look at shot options and use the whole team as they can draw double teams and create openings maye ironically for Fields and Chandler.
I would also hope they try to get JR Smith as it will give another shooting option and they can also maybe use Lin as dual purpose player – a creator for Melo and STAT or a scorer when Melo and/or STAT goes to the bench.

TallmanNYCParticipantI’m actually liking Novak. The guy shot 56% last year . . . from three point range. He is shooting 48% from 3 this year and he is a big part of this 5 game win streak. He hit two threes in the final stretches of last nights game which was a big part of why the Knicks were able to pull out that win. With Melo and Amare back, and Lin giving contribution from the PG spot, I don’t think the Knicks need to look outside the team for another scorer, even one as talented as JR Smith.
Anyway, Novak not playing is another head scratcher about what the hell were the Knicks thinking. Considering I think Balkman can also contribute, between Jeffries, Balkman, Novak and Lin it is like the Knicks have been hiding an entire functioning NBA team on their bench all season. All they need is Fields and Chandler on the court with those guys and it seems like they can challenge anyone for spurts.
