MJ FOR LIFE 23ParticipantWow I’m kind of lost for words right now Lin with 27 in 3 quarters!? Great game and Kobe is starting to heat up

LazarusMunozParticipantSo what happens when Baron Davis is ready to play? Im curious how he will gel with Carmelo
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/10/2012 - 5:33pm #634907
BasterdInABasketParticipantWow Never thought Id be rooting for a Knicks team. Soon as Carmelo returns theyll be one of my most hated teams once again.

DoctorJuliusKyrieIrvingParticipantBaron Davis > Lin

Tobe BryantParticipantThis is what basketball is all about…never stop doing what you do! The journey never ends!
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/10/2012 - 5:40pm #634914
LazarusMunozParticipantseriously, you would start Baron over Lin at this point?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/10/2012 - 5:42pm #634921
Tobe BryantParticipantThey better had signed Arenas….
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/10/2012 - 5:42pm #634923
LazarusMunozParticipantwhat up with ESPN showing that sign that said “The Yellow Mamba”?…. thats kinda racist
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/10/2012 - 5:43pm #634925
FastAndFuriousParticipantNo you put Davis ass on the bench, if the Knicks start Baron over Lin, the whole front office needs to be fired, his numbers are amazing since he’s been starting
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/10/2012 - 5:43pm #634927

IndianaBasketballParticipantProps to Lin, but I hate New York hype.
Lin has played well in the spread offense and has done well reading when to drive or pass. However let’s wait until he hits a teams scouting report. Right now, nobody really knows much about him.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/10/2012 - 5:52pm #634933
Knicksboy42ParticipantLin is nice, but I still think he’s just a backup. People forget how Duhon had a good season under D’Antoni. I think Lin could be a special backup PG in this system, but nothing more.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/10/2012 - 5:55pm #634934
FastAndFuriousParticipantYou show me another PG in the league averaging:
28.5 ppg
8 apg
3.75 rpg
2stls per
in every game started! Lol I know he only started 4 games, but those numbers are sick plus they 4-0!
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/10/2012 - 5:56pm #634936
KayjayParticipantThis shit is gone to a whole new level absurdity. Who’s guarding the kid? Fish? Blake? Who else have the knicks played against that wasn’t an exhausted Laker team with Lin as the PG? Jesus, its Tim Teebow all over again.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/10/2012 - 5:56pm #634939
IndianaBasketballParticipantIt’s been four games and he’d basically been given the keys…
Hes playing in a spread offense. He can play and deserves credit, but this nut hugging is making me puke.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/10/2012 - 5:59pm #634944
llperezlin looks great and deserves the opportunity to continue to run the show in NY. But everyone needs to slow down on him a little. The hype is fun, but lets wait and see. I mean Magic comparing him to nash and stockton at halftime was silly and you can see jon barry trying to hold himself back out of respect for magic.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/10/2012 - 5:59pm #634945
Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantKayjay
In other games he was guarded by the likes of Deron Williams, John Wall, and Earl Watson.
But to be completely honest, he’ll end up being a 13-16ppg, 6-8apg by the time the season ends and he starts playing with Amar’e and Melo. I think it’s safe to say he solves the Knicks PG problem.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/10/2012 - 5:59pm #634946
IndianaBasketballParticipantESPN and New York are about to have people thinking he is a superstar. All he needs now is Skip Bayless on his nuts.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/10/2012 - 6:03pm #634949
KayjayParticipantTOL23. I think he’ll do nicely and may be the answer to the Knicks in terms of PG who knows lets wait and see.
I just really refuse to believe the guy would be lighting up better defensive teams then the ones the Knicks have played. I’m just a little frustrated because he’s everywhere now lol. Its funny because I live in LA. And I have to hear this nonsense.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/10/2012 - 6:07pm #634954
Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantI’d love to see what he could do against defensive teams like the Bulls, 76ers, and Celtics. One thing is for sure, he’s giving us another twist in this complicated season already.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/10/2012 - 6:07pm #634955
Knicksboy42ParticipantESPN and New York are about to have people thinking he is a superstar.
If anything, they’re doing the exact opposite in my opinion. It’s been four games, but as the season continues, I wouldn’t even be shocked if Baron came in and took the job from him. He just played four bad defensive teams. Trust me, noone is gonna call him a superstar.

The Lakers are 4th in defense in the NBA.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/10/2012 - 6:12pm #634960
Knicksboy42ParticipantThe Lakers are 4th in defense in the NBA.
Because they allow 80 points at home, 96 on the road, and the fact they have two great bigs in Gasol and Bynum. That defensive stat has nothing to do with their perimeter play outside of Kobe Bryant, and even he’s falling off as a defender.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/10/2012 - 6:16pm #634962
FastAndFuriousParticipantYou a hater bra……..exit the thread
Lol
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/10/2012 - 6:22pm #634964
Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantYes the Lakers defense may be a worse on the road but they only allow opponents to shoot 37% on the road. Not to mention, nobody in the league has scored over 34 points on the Lakers, home or away. Lin dropped 38 while shooting over 56%.
I’m not saying Lin is going to be a star or superstar by any means, he’s going to be a solid 14-7 guy as the season goes on but he’s not going to lose his starting job to a lazy and usually overweight 32 year old.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/10/2012 - 6:30pm #634968
llperezlakers d is good, just not against pg’s
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/10/2012 - 6:30pm #634969
DanEboyParticipantThey put up a stat during the game that said Lin has the most points over his first four starts to a career since the merger. I don’t care what teams you are playing, or what offense you are running, that is pretty special, especially for an undrafted player.
No one thinks he is going to be a superstar, unless they are fools. We are all just having fun watching his play so far.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/10/2012 - 6:55pm #634975
DurantsWingspanYeah he is on fire right now and playing great but do you guys honestly believe he’s going to be this good forever? I remember Jennings dropping 50 his rookie year and people deeming him the next AI. This is the NBA, almost every single player can get hot and have a few great games. I remember Tony Delk dropping 50. The list goes on. I can’t believe people who are trying to make a conservative prediction still thinking he’s going to get you 14-17 and 6-8 assists this year. Lin will never get over 12 points and 5 assists a game in his whole CAREER. Book it.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/10/2012 - 6:59pm #634976
TallmanNYCParticipantDanEboy that is the right attitude and I think the way most of the folks enjoying Linsanity are taking this. It is a special start to a guy who is riding a freaking hot streak. He is saving the most overpaid and underperforming team in the league right now and putting up stats and leading his teams to wins like an MVP. Though I don’t think any of his new fans would bet that Lin is going to keep this up.
Enjoy it. It is a fun show and it is good for New York basketball to get some wins and see some overachieving in Knicks after a year of underachieving ball.
By the way, a couple of days ago, I said Lin was going to light up the Lakers. It seemed pretty obvious that they can’t guard a penatrating point guard. But to say "what is he going to do against a good defense?" Well if he just settles down to 15 points on 45% shooting, that will still be enough for the Knicks to win games. And it might be enough for Lin to keep his starting job even if Baron Davis can play this season.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 02/10/2012 - 11:07pm #635042
NYK2010ParticipantPeople who say he has to do it against elite teams make no sense.
Realistically there are only 5 elite teams in the league right now.
You can only play the teams on your schedule and he did face Deron Williams and John Wall both pretty talented.
Most important thing is Lin knows how to control the pace and he he’s very crafty kinda looks like a veteran out there.
The Knicks shouldn’t have a problem adjusting when Amare comes back since he always plays better with a PG that can run the pick n roll and system. Just look at last year with Felton and obviously the yrs in Phoenix with Nash.
Playing with Mello will be more difficult but Mello doesn’t have to be the point forward anymore which should free him up.
As for Baron Davis he’s not ready I heard he’s not ready to come back till the All Star break. By then Lin will have played 8 more games and we’ll know a lot more about the Knicks. Also Baron has to actually stay healthy after playing some games who nows if he stays healthy.

Future_Scoutat this point saying he will never get 14ppg and 6 assis. is just as bad as saying he will drop 25ppg and 9 assis. Ive seen him limited times, but from what Ive seen he can at least get 6 assis. specially when amare comes back
0 - Posted on: Sat, 02/11/2012 - 3:50am #635062
Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantLike I said, this guy solves all their issues they had at point guard but he won’t average 28-8 for the rest of the season. Once he comes back down to earth, Melo returns, and Amar’e returns, he’ll be their starting point guard and their third option offensively. He’ll be a 14ppg-7apg guy, and that’s pretty good considering the fact that he’s playing with Amar’e and Melo and he’s supposed to be an undrafted nobody.
One thing is for sure, he has proved himself that he can be a starting point guard in this league, whether he ever has a stretch as the one he’s having now for the rest of his career is questionable but he’s proven. That’s all that matters at this point.
Sort of like Collison when Chris Paul was injured. Darren Collison was averaging 19ppg-10apg for about a 10-15 game stretch, now he’s averaging 11-5. He proved he’s legit so now he’s a starting point guard on a top team.
As for everybody saying he’s the Tim Tebow of the NBA, that is completely false. With Tim Tebow, you’re talking about a guy that never put up good stats and only showed up in the final quarter to win a game after the defense had kept them in it the entire time. 28-8 while 4-0 is all substance, he’s not just coming in during the final 6 minutes of the game to close it out, he’s literally carrying this team throughout the game to four victories.
To sum it up, will he ever have a 4 game stretch like the one he’s having now for the rest of this season? Probably not, but he’s proved he’s a legit starter in this league and has made a name for himself. He’s solved the problem the Knicks had at point guard and he’s a sure-fire third option on that team when Melo and Amar’e get back. 14-7 is pretty damn good for the undrafted 2nd-year 12th man.

Ahkasi ClayParticipantare the knicks really better with out Carmello?
0 - Posted on: Sat, 02/11/2012 - 7:28am #635097
NYCrealdealParticipantidk how anyone can dispute this…last four games hes been the best pg in the nba. lol
we all know wen Melo amare come back his scoring will go down. but amare is thanking who ever is lord is for lin. he thrives of the pick n roll. so if hes in the right mind set to play wen hes back, and remember his brother passed (RIP) so im giving him a few games to get back in the right mind set. and wen melo comes back he will be comming of an injury, so those few games when melo and amare come back i think lin should be able to play like he is right now. because melo and amre arnt ganna be in rythym right away so i hope theyll let him get some confidence and let him know that he can run a team with stars.

aamir543ParticipantI like what the Lakers are doing, they’re trying to get in inside to Pau, Bynum, and Kobe, but the double is coming really fast. I love the defense the Knicks are playing, although they are letting Matt Barnes toy with them. Bynum is getting in the rhythm, If they can mix a conbination of Kobe on the perimeter and the bigs inside, while getting the ball to their shooters, but Blake has to be able to knock that open three down more consistently, cause his legs aren’t in it right now.
Jeremy Lin just got another and 1, he is really good at getting to the basket, he’s got 13 points already, and he plays with a sort of swagger and emotion. He just drew another foul, and he can change speeds really easily.
Andrew Goudlouck can become a really nice player one day.
It’s pretty ridiculous that this Knicks team is beating the Lakers 37-24, even if they just played an OT game yesterday.
Troy Murphy finally hit a shot, he, Blake, Kapono, and Barnes will have to knock down open shots.
