saw this on the training camp show. Its an electronic device sewn into their jerseys between their shoulder blades. No idea how exactly it works, but apparently it reads how often you sprint, jump and bang into guys and then it records onto a computer so the coaching staff can see who is hustling. Any thoughts about this?

    Dope.

Where can you watch this? I’m interested because I wouldn’t be shocked if the Knicks used the EC contract and pieces to get someone other then Melo.

kind of reminds me off call stats in telemarketing.. just means they know someone is watching them at all times, no room for butt scratching

Sounds cool. Apparently hustle and whatnot is important to them. Yet they gave up their best player and guy that hustles the most.

good post llperez I was gonna post this but I forget too.

The LOAD device is the back of the jersey sewn in right above the numbers and below the collar.  the wires and pressure sensitive sash wrap around the players body to register how much contact the player gives and is getting.

One of the assistant coaches monitors everybodies activity from the sideline during practice and can tell if a player is not subbing himself in enough in scrimmages and if he isn’t going full speed in the fastbreak drills.  It also measure how much a player is jumping and his heart rate and how much he is giving out their in practice and how frequently.  It also can tell a coach what parts of practice a player may be more into or more comfortable with then others.

Amare is apparently became obcessed with the equipment and runs up various times throughout practice to see what his LOAD rating is.  And he also wants to see what everybodies else’ LOAD rating is to make sure that he has the highest LOAD rating and wants to see if anybody is slacking so he can get in their ear about it.  Stat said that since he is the highest paid player he should have the highest LOAD rating.  Stoudemire is truly leading thru example and its awesome to watch.

Mr. Knick this was on the Knicks Real Training Camp on NBA Tv.  Even D’Antoni said he has no idea what LOAD stands for and that by his knowledge they are the only team in the league using it.  Amare, Fields, Mozgov, Gallo, Turiaf, and Felton were apparently the highest rated LOAD players in their training camp.  Randolph’s needs to be higher so he can earn his minutes is what they said.

I think this will be revolutionary.
