Alright so I never do these silly trade machine things, but I’m bored at work and I found this one and it seemed pretty decent  and cool so I’m gonna run it by you guys….

    http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine

    Suns get: Billups, Fields, Douglas

    Knicks get: Nash, Gortat

Why it works for Sun’s: It allows them to part ways with Steve Nash and still getting young talent in return as well as a veteran point guard who knows how to run that style of offense. Landry Fields is an all-around player who does not need shots to be effective and this is important when your playing with along side a ball dominate PG in Brooks. Futhermore, Landry Fields would work great with Grant Hill and learn a ton from him that will help move his career along and also take some of the load of Carter’s shoulders so he can just spot up and shoot (cause you know that’s all he wants to do now). Toney Douglas is a great bench player and combo guard who fits great in systems such as these. While Billups is no Nash he is a close second and always fits into whatever system he players in. He can penetrate and distribute to the Suns spot up shooters and also spot up himself, same with Douglas. They do lose size but they can regain that through the draft by picking Thompson or one of the Morris twins.

Why it works for Knicks: Keeping this short. Knicks get Steve Nash who would have a field day with Amare and Melo and Gortat brings defense intensity and rebounding.

    What do you guys think?

There also will probably be a pick thrown in there by the Knicks.

It wouldn’t let me put in Shawn Williams or someone like that who would be a piece the Suns would want cause of re-signings and stuff. I just wanted to see what people thought of this one.

Billups will immediately request a buy out if sent to the Suns… so essentially your trading your best two players and your two most tradable assets for Fields and Douglas? What sense does that possibly make? I think the Suns would trade Nash for that but there is no way they include a legit 7 ft starting Center.

Def. I’m just bored but if this trade went down I’m sure walker/williams and turiaf/jefferies would be thrown in as well and Suns throw in Warrick maybe.

one thing you succeed on, to make the dream trade for the knicks!

upgrade from PG who is very bad fit for Dantony system to a PG who is the perfect fit, getting 7 footer, hard nosed talanted center who is great fit to Amare.

the thing is, the Knicks don’t give back much, maybe if they get rid from their next 5 years first round picks this trade could be equal.

This is so oneside I bet if someone called and offered this to Donnie Walsh he would think it was a prank call.

The Suns are going to want young talent for Nash and Fields isn’t going to cut it, especially for a team that doesn’t have go-to scorers. Also, based on play in the last month of the season, the Knicks are getting the 2 best players in the deal.

Suns have Gortat for the long run, so hes not going anywhere.  Carter will be gone next year because the Suns have said they are not picking up his rediculous option.  And honestly, I hate this trade ALOT.  You are getting rid of your future and your star point gaurd for Billups who is not the same Billups who he used to be, Landry Fields who is good but never gonna be someone other teams fear, and Douglas, whom I admit I like but this is still a one sided trade.
