 Other than the two bigs, there are no one worth waiting on to reach their potential. The Knicks must trade out for a vet or possibly trade down to fill out their team with a couple ready to contribute players. Pray they land top free agents.

 I think the wolves will take towns. I believe the Lakers should take Russell which will mean the sixers will probably take mudiay. The Knicks may still end up with okafor at 4. I would not trade the pick if I were them.

 I doubt the Lakers would pass on Okafor. It’s not impossible, but I doubt it. I think Okafor and Towns go 1 and 2 then Russell goes 3 and maybe Mudiay at 4.

 They don’t need to trade the pick. They can still get a good player with that pick. In my opinion the top 4 of this draft are pretty good. D’Angelo Russell, Emmanuel Mudiay, KAT, and Jahlil Okafor are all very good prospects. Now ideally New York would have liked to be in the top 2 because it guarantees them at least one of two very good bigs which we all know are a rare commodity in the NBA today. Now they have to take a guard. Don’t get me wrong those guys are nice players but good guards are easy to nab nowadays in free agency or in the draft. Now they have to overpay a big that’s really not even worth the money and hope they decide to go there in free agency. That’s the biggest issue they have right now.

 Regarding the Lakers, My post is assuming the bigs goes top two, which I fully expect to happen. Russell is not ready to be an nba pg, if that’s the plan. If you’re waiting, might as well go big and build around Randolph and Okafor/Towns.

 Knicks may luck up on this because if Philly picks Mudiay then they can take Russell who is said to be a Curry type. His shooting should work well in the Triangle.  Also there will be no overpaying this summer because any deal but a really horrible one would be a good deal considering the cap numbers will jump.  All players will start making a whole bunch more than they are now.  

 This amount will not go down.  A person getting a max deal this summer is going to be a average deal in comparison to someone who signs a max deal when the cap shoots up.  I wonder if Rookie contract go up as well.

Knicks will probably give Monroe the max and drafting Russell give them another shooter next to Hardaway and Melo.  The Knicks then will need a defensive big and they could luck up in the second round or buy a late first and grab a big man with a questionable college career or wait and try to side Whiteside from Miami.
