as a die hard knicks fan since i was 12 years old all i can say is, its been a long time coming. now im not writing the celtics off, because theyve had our number the past few years. however, its looking good for us Knicks baby.

from the days of latrell sprewell and allan houston, to stephon marbury and eddy curry, its been a long ride for us knicks fan.

now i can finally say, WE’REEEEEE BACKKKK!
too bad the heat made a super team or else id really give this knicks team a good chance! oh well, ill take what we can get.
PS. Carmelo is going down as one of the top 10 knicks to ever play the game. what a breath of fresh air.

oh believe me im not. im worried about them as well, but im talking about any championship aspirations the knicks would have. its going to come down t beating the heat, lets be honest.

the move that carmelo just did, and perfected, almost a hesitation pull up shot, but keeps the dribble alive is the best move you can use because it gets the defender off the ground.

I’m definitely optimistic about the Knicks for this year. But let’s remember that this team is built for the short term. Our roster is old and we don’t have any prospects besides Shumpert, and even Shump is a question mark at this point.

@amare_apache: the roster is old, but when you’re New York it’s pretty easy to bring in fresh blood to support the core, and outside of Amare there are no terrible contracts eating up cap space.

As far as the Knicks go, I was a doubter this season, but their execution has been ridiculous, Smith is playing on another level, hitting some OUTRAGEOUS shots to bail out poor offensive possessions and Kidd has pulled out his quick-draw hands again – that block he had on Green today was nasty.

The Pacers series is going to be interesting, but I don’t think it will be as close as people think, the Knicks are a veteran team now, Melo is playing focused and care-free basketball, they have solid depth, Martin was a steal, Chandler is more or less healthy and they aren’t relying on guys like Steve Novak to shoot from outside any more.

George is going to struggle against Shumpert and even Kidd’s D, Chandler is a great defensive anchor who should limit Hibbert’s effectiveness, and Martin will slow down West. Smith should outperform Stephenson and Felton is back to his aggressive best, it’s just hard to see the Pacers beating either the Knicks or Miami.

I think it’s going to be a Knicks-Miami ECF, let’s hope the series is more competitive than the last one was.

If my Celtics are going to go down, then let’s hope the team that beat them proves their worth as they advance, it will restore some dignity at least.

HALLELUJAH!!

I find it ironic that the three eastern conference teams that look like they’ll advance are the Knicks biggest playoff rivals from the 90’s. Indiana, Chicago, Miami, and New York were perennials in the second round, and would always beat each other up, or lose to the Bulls. Now the Heat are the big boys, and are clearly favored to win it all, especially with key injuries in the Western Conference.

However, the Knicks defense these playoffs, especially second half defense, has been spectacular. Holding the Celtics to under 80 and ~40% from the field a game, while making excellent rotations and extending to three point shooters has made them look extremely to score on. Combined with the Knicks shooting, Carmelo’s singular dominance, and our ability to consistently win the turnover battle gives me the confidence we can beat anyone. Now, beating the Heat 4-7, I don’t know. But the Knicks look good. LETS GO!
