For_Never_EverParticipantI heard talk from the First Take crew saying Klay Thomson coud be the second best shooter of all time. I think Klay can be great at times, but if he was on a different team my opinion he wouldn’t be nearly as good because teams could really focuse on him to take away his game. He has solid handles that are good enough, and as defender he is good not great. This team is known for the splash brothers, but really the player that is more important than Klay other Curry is Draymond Green.
My opinion Peja Stojakovic gets overshadowed for how great he actually was. As pure catch and shooter player he was just as good as anyone. He moved well and smart without the ball He was was also a solid ball handler for a legit 6’9 player, and was sound defender.
My point being if I had to rate the two, I would have Peje over Klay. Am I wrong for thinking this ?

CU.LIONSParticipantNot sure how Klay could be number 2. IMO Bird and Curry would be almost impossible to touch. But never say never.

For_Never_EverParticipantBefore anyone gets on me Klay Thompson. I also messed up not using commas and stuff. My bad, I shouldn’t have post it right away when I just felt like writing this.

Hype MachineThompsons a contender…but if you put Reggie Miller on the Warriors in todays era, he’d be even better.

BleedGreen808ParticipantHis form is picture perfect in my opinion. Steph might be the superior shooter with unlimited range and ability to pull up off the dribble but I love watching Klay shoot.

For_Never_EverParticipantIt’s great to have perfect shooting form, but it doesn’t make them the superior shooter. Bird, Curry, Redd and Miller didn’t have perfect shooting form.

BleedGreen808ParticipantOh yeah for sure form doesn’t determine how great of a shooter a player is. I wasn’t trying to say he’s the 2nd greatest shooter of all time. I just meant that I love the mechanics of Klay’s shot. Steph’s shot doesn’t have the "ideal" form but his release is so quick and the arc he gets on it makes his shots more likely to go in.

Hype MachineCurry gets so much backspin that the ball slows down mid-flight and drops in a downwards motion through the hoop, as opposed to a forward trajectory which limits the surface area for the ball to pass through before it hits the iron.
Same concept as Rick Barrys underhand backspin freethrows. Just drops in nicely.

BleedGreen808ParticipantThe arc he gets compared to a flatter shot also allows the ball to be coming down at a better angle allowing more room for error.

alex23ParticipantPete Maravich, if there were a three point line in his younger years we would definitely be bringing up his name.
