I’ve been wondering, what are the knocks on this guy? He has very nice stats but I see that he’s not highly rated on many sites. Unfortunately I’ve never seen a Clemson game so I don’t know a whole lot about him, and there isn’t a write up about him here.

Is he a tweener? Not athletic enough? Is it because he goes to Clemson? Just curious… Thanks guys.

i think general consensus is that he’ll stay another year.  i think his freshman and sophomore year, clemson was just horrible.  they are rebounding but don’t seem to be getting much tv exposure.

i think he’s undersized for the sf in the nba and lacks a consistent jump shot.  athleticism is there though and he really has improved his rebounding.  he shows up as 2nd rounder in some 2015 mocks.  probably justified.

I played against him a few times over the past summers. I’m not sure he’s an NBA player. He’s a super athlete! He can jump with the best of em. A good defesnive player at about 6’6 with a good wing span and decent build. He just doesn’t have the offensive skillset. NOt much of a ball handler. Not much of a shooter. He’ll make some, but it HAS to improve. Right now he’s a great athlete, allowing him to be a great slasher/finisher and a great shot blocker.

     I love KJ.  He wasn’t a highly.ranked recruit coming.out.of.high school but he’s tough, a hard worker.and.has really.turned.himself.into.a.good college player and possible all acc.selection.

He’s a bit undersized and for that reason he needs to work on his perimeter skills.  He is one of those do it all guys….like Greg Buckner before him at Clemson.  Buckner played about 10 years in the league.  KJ seems to have the bbiq of Buckner but is a much better athlete.   He needs to improve his ballhandling and shot, if he does, he can be a good contributor.  If he doesnt, he still has enough athleticism and defensive prowess to stick on a roster.
