The 76ers will send forward Brandon Davies to the Nets and acquire a 2020 second-round pick in the deal, as well as the right to swap second-round picks with Brooklyn in the 2018 draft. The Nets will likely include guard Jorge Gutierrez in the deal, a league source told Yahoo.
I don’t understand aquiring a 2020 second round pick and the right to swap second round picks in 2018 for 3 million dollars, since they plan to cut Kirilenko once the trade goes through.

doubledribblerParticipantReports indicate that prior to tonight’s game, Davies was hitting all of his shots in warmups. This after he was coming off the best practice of his career. According to Coach Brown, "I think Brandon is going to have a 40 point game tonight. The guy is in the zone. I was about to give him the start tonight, but Sam Hinkie said he needed to talk to him before the game. If he keeps it up, I like our chances tonight. Hopefully Sam can get him out here quickly."

JordoParticipantNot sure what the sixers gain from cutting him right away but im sure kirillenko is not complaining. He can go sign to a contender.

TheArtistPaysthePriceParticipantIts not like the Sixer’s atually lose 3 million if they cut him because they are under the cap floor anyway.

arowsky205ParticipantI think Davies can actually be a pretty solid backup in the league. Is giving him up really worth just a second rounder in 2020? The Nets were trying to get rid of AK47 just for the sake of saving money, so don’t you think the 6ers could haven given up less?

benny15Participantyou could be right man, although it would have been better if they got more instead of giving up less since i think coach brown and hinkie felt that they auditioned davies already, see that he’s not gona be part of their core or future, and can get the same production out of covington who now has the minutes due to davies being shipped out.

Jco4ParticipantI was just thinking about the market for Kirilenko, I can imagine the Clippers would be interested but any other clubs who would want him? Can he still contribute / play valuable minutes for a contending team?

ExumInfernoParticipantShved and Kirilenko on the same NBA team again, at least officially but maybe not on the court, that must be the reason for the trade.

HitsterParticipantThe Cavs might look at AK47 as he’d give them defensive options from the bench even the Spurs might take a look.
