skingzParticipanti took alot of heat supporting the kings when they traded 2 scrubs, a potential non scrub and a future pick (likely a center) for $$$$$
now that the dust has cleared it basically looks like a trade
jason thompson 2 yrs 14 mill
carl landry 2 yrs 13 mill
stauskas rookie contract
future 1st round pick
for
rondo 1 yr 10 mill
bellinilli 3 yrs 19 mill
james anderson (i dont know the contract details)
these 2 teams have completly different mentalities so each did what they thought favors them…kings wanna win now, stauskas was the biggest project on the kings (not named sim bhullar) and kings fans have seen enough of thompson (franchise leader in games played) and landry (2 stints with the kings & injured last 2 years) the future pick isn’t worth as much for the kings because they want to win now!!!
philly on the other hand is looking to build long term, they had so much cap space and so little depth at the wing that taking on landry and thompson was worth the risk of the potential of stauskas and a future pick
yesterday it seemed like philly robbed the kings, today i would say both teams improved. lets see what happens a year from now.
if you remember when the kings wanted to trade for rondo he said he would never play for the kings today he is in sacramento willingly.
i wanted to put that out there after i got jumped by philly fans

The Scare Crow RisesParticipantNEGATIVITY will also result in Negatives
I don’t mind when someone keeps it 100% real with me about my team, just remember people are fans at their core, crap on a team with several fans on a forum and the negs will fly…
I never thought this deal was a slam dunk because Stauskas does have to prove himself as a player, Thompson and Laundry are just veterans for the young bigs to learn from until they’re traded for a 2nd rounder…No harm no foul…

T RexRondo means the Sixers have competition for best tank job, and the Kings have the advantage of being in the West.
It’s on.

holefillers1ParticipantThe left out some important info. If the Kings suck this year or next year and win the lottory (1-3) then they will have to trade down with Philly. Plus they have a pick going to the Bulls then to Philly. Its too much risk when you play in the west.

Roland209ParticipantI’m a Kings fan too and I’ll be at the edge of my seat all season simply because if they play horribly, they won’t get a high pick with the sixers’ right to swap picks and giving a future first. Best case scenario if they don’t make the playoffs (which will be difficult in the west) is to have a lower pick than the sixers but still be a top 10 so they don’t give their pick to the Bulls.
