BasketBalAllanParticipantAccording to the AP the Kings and Warriors assistant coach Mike Malone have agreed to a contract to implement Malone as the Kings new head coach. (I cannot post the link from this tablet)
The Kings are also currently searching for a new GM. It is rumored they are going to pursue either the Warriors assistant GM Travis Schlenk, the Grizzlies GM Chris Wallace, or the Spurs president R.C. Buford.

BrianalexParticipantI wonder if they build their roster around Cousins or Evans.

Chilbert arenasParticipantI was under the impression that Clippers were going to go after Malone hard since he had a relationship with CP3.

hoodwinkParticipantR.C. Buford made explicit comments that he would not be leaving San Antonio, so that is off the table. I believe Ranadive will again hire someone he’s worked with before in Travis Schlenk.
And if you’re ready for more jokes about mimicking the Warriors, Yahoo!’s Marc Spears reports that Monta Ellis has a growing interest in signing with Sacramento. If that were to actually happen, the new GM would obviously (well, hopefully) be shipping out a couple of similar shooting guard types in some sort of trade(s).
As a Kings fan in Sacramento, I’m ecstatic to start this new era. Just signed back up for season tickets (after cancelling them years ago because of the Maloofs), like many others here.

omphalosParticipantI think Monta and Reke would be a good back-court pairing for two unconventional guards. Neither fit into a set position, but unlike the Jennings-Ellis back-court there’s no size disadvantage playing the two of them together and Monta’s shooting complements Tyreke’s driving game.
Thank GOD Keith Smart is out of there, dude had NO clue what he was doing. I hope they keep Tyreke and Cousins together another year with a coach who knows what he’s doing before giving up entirely.
The Sacramento team has never lacked talent, it’s just lacked any sort of maturity or cohesiveness as a unit.
Let’s hope Malone works out well for them.
