How come he’s not in the 2014 Mock Draft? He’s now played in 9 games, and he’s coming along nicely. He had 5 blocks in the win against San Diego State last night. His offense has improved a lot since Pittsburgh, but he still has a ways to go. He’s very athletic, a good rebounder, and a great weakside shot blocker.

He should at least be in the 2014 mock. I have him in 2013 in the early 20s and can easily see him moving up. Great shotblocking instincts, good hands, runs the floor well, nice touch around the rim. I’d like to see the rebounding rate improve, but with his combination of activity, length, quick leaping ability and hands I think that’ll improve.
I think he’d be a good gamble for a team looking for a defensive big with upside. I think he can be an Ed Davis type of player.

  I think he’ll be back next season. I can’t see him leaving after this season. Next season, he’d get more touches in the post with Anthony Bennett gone. Also, he could potentially work his way into the lottery with a good season.

    I can see him leaving if he puts his name out there and gets first round feedback. I think one of the reasons why he left Pitt was because he didn’t have the patience to be slowly developed. He could be taken as high as in the teens just on tools and defensive ability alone.

      I understand what you’re saying. I definitely think he could be a first round pick after this season, but I think he would be a shoe-in for the lottery if he stayed for one more season. I don’t know what his family situation is, which could be a big factor in his decision to stay or go pro.

Does khem birch remind any of you guys of Greg Smith who is quietly having a good season for houston?

  He’s not nearly as big as Smith in terms of bulk. Smith has the bulk and strength to bang with C’s. Khem is most likely strictly a PF. Khem is more quick and agile as well with better straight line speed.
