Why did Sacramento trade him in the first place and have to be a part of the New York T-Mac deal????? They got him for Carl Landry, Joey Dorsey and Larry Hughes( who was obviously just a filler). Landry just got traded to the Hornets for Marcus Thornton. So essentially they indirectly traded Martin for Thornton…..   I think Thornton is a good player and all and will get better, but he’s not really the kind of player you can start next to Tyreke Evans and he is basically just a sixth-man……

they were close to a 500 team with Tyreke and the gang last year then Martin came back from injury and they went like 4-16, i actually gave a message on facebook to gavin maloof telling him they should trade for tmac getting rid of contracts of Nocioni garcia Martin to have like around 25 million in the summer to get lebron but that didnt happen 🙁

Martin makes a lot of money for a guy who hasn’t really shown he can win as a #1 option.

Also, they traded Kevin because they felt it was time to hand the keys to Tyreke and let him be the #1 player for the Kings. They didn’t feel Tyreke was being utilized correctly as the PG and they didn’t think Martin-Evans was a good fit. Ultimately, it was the correct decision.

They didn’t have to rush the deal that fast..Evans have not played good so far this season.

They should have gotten more in return though…… No picks were involved at all.

In hindsight, Landry was having a breakout season. He was averging 16 points, around a block a game, 5.5 rebounds a game, in 26 minutes per game. So you would think with maybe 32-34 minutes he could boost those numbers, and it didn’t happen much, just two more points and one more rebound with less efficiency. Also, the Kings lacked in the big man department and thought Landry was a great fit with Evans and could solve that problem. Lastly, he was cheaper. So, I could see where the Kings were going, but it didn’t work out for them.

Yeah they def. thought Tyreke was going to be a top scoring option and KMart was making too much money.

The team really needs a lot of work, they have plenty of bigs the last couple years but they haven’t used that to their advantage.

I really think they should’ve drafted Rubio seems like he would’ve played in California.  They definately would’ve had a better team than the Twolves.  Having a shooter like Kmart to team up with a PG like Rubio they’d definately score a lot of pts.

Drafting Rubio would of been a great option. But honestly with the way things are going for him right now…flat footed jumpers, horrible from behind the arc, they would of been setting themselve’s up for failure even further. Once Tyreke can hit from the perimeter consistently enough. A pure point guard like Irving or Rubio, who ever will be ideal. In fact I might get murdered for saying this, but seeing as how Reke isn’t a pure play maker, maybe having something like a side kick (Brandon Knight) wouldn’t be so bad. We don’t know how Reke will be off the ball, so why not have two ‘okay’ play makers in the back court. Kobe and Fisher sort of have the same thing going. Maybe it could work for them. That and Cousins is more of a PF, so their center problem isn’t all the way fixed. They need a small forward too. Which they could end up getting in this draft if Irving is out.
