he will be out 6 to 8 weeks according to Woj.. Well, I don’t know what to say anymore, he will be back for playoffs, but they needed all the time in the world with their whole unit to figure something out with this group.. Crowder, TT, JR are all trash and so is Lue. IT has also been really bad.. They have to start making moves now because Lebron is most likely leaving.

They love trading for carcasses, might even try for Tyson Chandler if DAJ falls through…

Way to get Blake Im always hurt griffin. You might make the playoffs. Only cost you a first and second but your team will be at home by the ned of the first round.

Hopefully, there’s no tendon/tissue damage, etc and there are no small pieces of fragments. If he has any of these, he’ll definitely need 6-8 weeks to heal.

He’ll return in 4-6 weeks if all goes well.

Side question. Who replaces him in the All-Star game now? Does that player have to come from the Eastern Conference?

Now that Drummond is in for Wall, I’d say next man up is Ben Simmons.

Missing the all star selection was the best thing for Simmons. He has played with more fire since the reserves were announced. He’ll prob get in now and start playing entitled again…..

I get it he’s a nice player, but he’s like a lite-version of Demar Derozan.  If he starts taking over games then he’s an all-star.

He’s like Michael Redd (who was solid), to Ray Allen.  Ray Allen was just a better player, the true all-star.

I think Ben Simmons (with Embiid healthy), has made this team into a bonafide playoff team.  Simmons can score 18 a game easy if he wants and thats without a jumper, and he’ll get you triple doubles and a good amount of steals and make plays in the 4th quarter.

Ben Simmons is a more complete player.  Dragic is in that Middleton territory.  I don’t mind if iether of them get it because Ben Simmons is still just a rookie and he could still take over some games.

I want to see Ben Simmons become a force in the paint on mismatches with smaller guards.  Muhc like we know about Lebron…if Lebron developed a back to the basket game he would be unstoppable, but Lebron has chosen to be more of a 3 point shooter.

I hope Simmons next facet to his game is posting up and finishing strong on mismatches, with his teammates looking and finding him.  Then I want him to really work on that elbow jumper, just enouhg to be a knockdown shooter.  Kinda like TJ McConnell is able to do, I need Ben Simmons to start making that a knockdown shot, and be better at free throws.

To be honest, Simmons has a lot yet to work on before we reward him as an all-star.  He isn’t close to his potential yet.  Get that post-up game, free throws, mid-range jumper up, maybe a little better on defense though he’s adequate, and then we are talking perennial all-star.  Right now he’s a fringe all-star, if he gets it i’m happy for him, if not its not a big deal, let’s get past the first round of the playoffs, thats the main focus.

No surprise, Kevin Love has always been injury prone.

They have Frye and T Thompson. They should of given Zizic more minutes earlier on to give him confidence

man thats a mit of stars going down right now since Wall is also out now for two months.

Sucks for the Cavs but they have a very deep roster and should finally start shutting the f*ck up and begin to play defense.

I watched the Cavs’ game tonight against Detroit and this is the second straight time I’ve watched them and come to this undeniable conclusion: Isaiah Thomas is playing the worst defense in NBA history.

I’m not being hyperbolic, I’m being serious. What I just saw is insane.

There have been guys who were capable of playing at least average/mediocre NBA defense and just didn’t really try on a consistent basis (James Harden), there have been guys who were not good individual defenders but tried hard to play good team defense and were often in the right place dispite their limitations (Steve Nash). And I’m sure there have been countless guys who couldn’t defend a lick, and didn’t play much in the league as a result.

But man, I’m telling you, this dude, I hope he came back early from injury and he’s not healthy because if that’s all he’s got, he is going to play his way out of the league.

I’ll say they can’t win it from here. Too many hurdles. Can’t see IT staying. Can’t see LeBron being there next year either, although he only has about 5 possible landing spots looking at the cap numbers.

I wonder what the Cavs will do now stand as is or make a big splashy move…I wouldn’t be surprised to  see them trading love for a reasonable talent(like a D.J+ lou williams) and maybe including their first to get it done.

Also I would move I.T back to his 6th man role on this team if they want to win…Lebron playing P.G is maybe better for them if they want to stay in the top 4 in the east..

The Lebron bolting next season wouldn’t surprise me also.

The Cavs have enough depth to cover for K-Love’s absence and the big thing will be getting him back for the play offs. The team can go smallball and possibly play a 3 guard line up with LBJ at PF so they have options.

If they think they could get an upgrade in then go for it. They have a number of expiring deals although I’m sure D-Wade and D-Rose would "love" being dealt. Crowder is on a very cap friendly deal too, Frye is expiring, Korver is a good veteran presence so teams would consider taking them. Zizic might even come into play.

Cavaliers are tough to watch right now, and have been for a good chunk of the season. Every die-hard Cavs fan knew we would lose to Detroit as soon as they made the major trade the other day. When the Cavs play any team that plays hard/motivated, they don’t show up. Our defense has been ATROCIOUS and Lue always just says things like "Well, we just have to get better you know." He has no business still being the coach but for whatever reason Dan Gilbert is scared to pull the trigger which is ironic considering he fired Blatt with a much better record around this point.

The Cavs just gave up 125 points to a team that starts Ish Smith – Reggie Bullock, Stanley Johnson, Anthony Tolliver, and Andre Drummond.. AKA, one very good player in Drummond and abunch of bench players. The subs were Ellenson, Moreland, Buycks, Kennard, and Galloway. I feel like we just lost to a G-League team.

    Christ.
