All eligible players will be declaring for the draft according to cal lol. I think this is actually a smart move on his part in regards to utilizing the new draft rules. If his guys have good workouts and hear good things, he gets more kids drafted again and can build upon his resume. If not he gets retain more of his players and talent with s better chance to make a title run. I don’t think cal is a great coach, but when it comes to putting a talented group together and making sure they get paid he’s definitely one of the best! Side note, who do we think will actually get drafted from Kentucky?

Jamaal Murray, and Skal Labissiere will get drafted. Tyler Ulis will likely get drafted. Briscoe may leave but his stock isn’t high and Poythress will likely get an opportunity to prove himself in Portsmouth, Summer League and D-League but I doubt he gets drafted. Willis is a wild card due to his shooting ability although I doubt he gets drafted. Lee will stay. Hump will stay.

So in my opinion Jamaal and Skal are locks and Ulis is likely.

To clarify this I only say Ulis is likely to be drafted because he may pull out. If he keeps his name in the draft he will get drafted but he might stay.

Why would he pull out? His stock is the highest it probably will get.

I’d have a hard time thinking Briscoe has much pro appeal right now. He’s coming off a season in which he went 5-37 from the college 3 point line, and 57-124 from the charity stripe.

He’s a strong guard who’s great at knifing through the lane to get buckets, but with an 8’2-4” standing reach and playing against guys as big and strong as he is…I think he would be incredibly ineffective.

Always beware of the slasher who can’t hit his free throws too. Briscoe needs to spend years honing his shot, it’s just his choice whether he wants to do it in UK or making 50 K a year in the D-League. He’s got some interesting tools, but he’s years away from impacting an NBA game, and without a lot of the elite physical tools his raw teammate Skal possess.

Early word on the street in Lexington is that Briscoe is going to return.

Was expecting a lot more out of Poythress this year. What happened to this guy? He should, at the least, be a lockdown defender with energy.
