JoeWolf1Who do you think comes out as winners or losers? I know, in reality, they’re all winners for having this kind of opportunity as NCAA athletes, but I have to think Poythress will just test at an absolutely monstrous level, and give himself a little stock bump going into the season.
What do you guys think?

redheadedbastardParticipantI think its a little pointless if you have a 40 inch vert in a workout but then struggle through a season or can’t earn minutes.
but I’m just a ginger and not an NBA scout.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantU have to hand it to Coach Cal for being the PT Barnum of college basketball….He really knows how to promote his brand, cant knock him for that ..He knows recruits will be watching…
But the majority of the scouts will be going there to watch Townes, there is no doubt about that..
Freshmen like Lyles and Booker might be totally different players by the end of the season then they are now…
Derek Willis can help himself, even if he doesnt get any significant minutes this season..and decides to turn pro, scouts will see him on the court and be able to assess his strengths & weaknesses….

JoeWolf1Yeah, supposedly Towns has like a 9’5” standing reach, which I’m really curious to see the how legit that number is…That kind of size makes things a lot easier around the rim.
It came at the Hoop Summit, so I feel it’s pretty solid, but that’s almost Gobert reach, and Towns is already 250 lbs.

MopgrassParticipantI personally a little torn about whether he’s a C or a PF. Obviously, 7’0″ with Gobert’s standing reach at 250 screams center, but his mobility and playing style say PF to me. He doesn’t seem to like to bang too hard down low and isn’t much of a shot blocker despite his advantages. Sure you can push a player to be more aggressive, but intensity is usually something that shows up the day your testosterone kicks in.

GoJOSH HUESTISParticipantTowns is the main attraction but all the scouts know they won’t be top 5 in the draft so it’s obvious that they will scout other guys who they think will drop to where they will be drafting. The top prospects aren’t the only players NBA teams draft since every team won’t be picking high lotto, teams also scout players they think they can get in the late first or second round
