ItsVictorOladipoParticipantThat article is bit ridiculous. Putting the blame on the NBA and those (teachers, coaches, tutors etc) that supposedly passed him along throughtout school supposedly because he was a star athlete.
Blame the education system in our country.
Think how many classes at the high school level actually require you to read a piece of literature? English was the only subject that did it for me and I know I would have been able to pass just by going to sparknotes or studying notes from the smarter kids in class.
I have plenty of friends who graduated high school without reading a book cover to cover (not including anything up to the level of the Bernstein Bears) due to sparknotes/teacher help/copying notes etc. And they weren’t superstar basketball players.

sheltwon3ParticipantI think people are misreading what was said. I used to read books when I was little but since college, a lot of times you dont have time to read books from cover to finish. I have because that is something i like to do and I also read magazines/comics but it is not impossible to have gone this long without reading a book from beginning to end. Especially since this generation has the internet where you can basically get majority of any information that you need without looking at everything about that subject. You can just get the juicy parts.
If I counting all the comics and books I have read from front to back, it would be a lot and I am only 30 but most people don’t read like that.
