Kemba Walker is a good talent, but who is he like?  He is kind of like Iverson, kind of like Ben Gordon.

The thing about Kemba is he won a NCAA championship as a 6 foot shooting point guard.  He is definitely a leader but he is not a Jason Kidd-style pass first point guard.  But he did get some assists this year.  Plus, he has great handles and has the ball in his hands a lot.  He wants the last shot.  A very good clutch player.  A Maui Invitational title with him being the big dog, willing his team to a Big East championship as well as a NCAA Tourney championship puts him in ELITE company.

His stats for the year were 23.7 points, 4.6 assists, and 5.4 rebounds a game.  He also gave them 1.9 steals a game.

I just thought of a scoring 6’0 guard who could also handle the ball and was a decent passer/set-up guy who was great in college and also won an NCAA championship while being the Final Four’s Most Valuable Player.  While he led his team to the title as a sophomore, while Kemba was a junior the comparison is still valid.

20 years ago for the Indiana Hoosiers Isiah Thomas led his team to the NCAA championship as the team’s main weapon.  He won the MVP of the Final Four and went on to be the number 2 pick in the draft.  Isiah was a 6’1, 180 lb. point guard who averaged 16 points, 5.8 assists, and 3.1 rebounds in 35 minutes a game.  Kemba stands at 6’1, 172 and averaged 37.7 minutes a game.

Isiah Thomas was not a prototype point guard, but he was very effective in college and on the next level.

OMG why do so many people on this site like bug out trying to compare players. Kemba is in his own right special and has bits from AI’s and Zeke’s game (mostly quickness) but just chill out man. Your comparing a top 50 all time player to a kid who hasn’t even suited up in the NBA right??? Just stop, this is the exact reason why my user name is "i’m jus so offended"…

Like I said, these stupid alter-egos aren’t even funny anymore.  It was funny at first with LeRoy.. but now it’s just pathetic.

Yeah, WALKER.  I was more concerned with getting Zeke’s name right.

I have heard comparisons to Tim Hardaway for Kemba Walker.  Looks like the consensus on Walker is he is a shoot-first guard with a smallish frame who’s game may or may not translate well to the NBA.

I am not sure what his best fit would be.  If he and Tyreke could figure it out that would be a nice backcourt.

that’s a pretty good one.  Nick had a great college career and a very solid NBA career.  Great scorer, could get hot, had deep range and could handle the ball.

I would be interested to see if the Wizards draft him and play him behind John Wall and Jordan Crawford.  That  would be an unstoppable 3 guard rotation.  Especially if the Wiz fall to 6 or 7 in the draft and a lot of the other good players have already been taken.  They could then pick up some scrappy, role playing small forwards and big men to round out their team.  If they picked at 7 then the options could be only Kemba, Jimmer, and a bunch of glorified role players (possibly).  If the Wiz wanna run then Kemba would get the nod over Jimmer.

I also think that a Rubio-Kemba backcourt would be fascinating.  At least on offense.  On defense though, it could be fascinatingly bad.  lol
