OKC is still definetely in the mix for a championship this year. The playoffs should be a great battle. With that being said if they don’t at least make it to the finals it is speculated that KD may want to play with the GSW. Crazy to think about KD wanting to switch to a team where he won’t even be the number one option. Curry will still be the number one option. Why would GSW want to mess up that flow Curry, Dray and Thompson have? If he really does want to leave I would think it would be becuase Westbrook is taking up to much of his shots. If not then you would just stay with OKC and Westbrook.

If he does wan’t to leave I would think he would want to be that definet number one leader of the team. Boston would be a good fit. Great defenders to surround KD with Crowder, Smart, Bradley. Then draft picks and young guys to make some trades with to sure up the Center or PF position. Well from a Celtics fan, heres Hoping KD looks our way!

Not only would it piss me off the most since Lebron went to Miami, but there would be even less shots to go around for KD. You think Curry doesn’t take as many shots, if not more, than Westbrook? Granted he makes more, but still.

Obviously he can do whatever he wants, but it would hurt his legacy. That’s just my opinion. I think KD needs a team where he has a pass first point guard. I know KD is great, but sometimes adding more talent can mess up the beautiful flow GS has. I’m not sure they go for it.

KD has honestly rubbed me as a brat with the way he handles the media. He definitely has an ego, and I’ll never forget when he said Kawhi’s success was just due to the Spurs system. I still think the Wizards would be the best fit for him. But we’ll see what happens.

That would actually be a good fit too. Wall is still only 25, plus he is that pass first point guard that would be great for KD. Then a couple other improving guys OPJ and Beal. Interesting option.

KD has tried to act all gangsta since signing with Jay Z.

It’s like how Michael Jackson went gangsta with his BAD album and music video, or George Michael going "tough" after his Wham! days were over, with his leather jacket and beard stubble.

I expect KD to sign with one of the NY teams, and soon after stage photoshoots in the subway or something that will look like this:

KD to Washington has long been talked of. The GSW rumour is very interesting, if they get him it’s almost a safety net in case Curry moves on in 2017 and a great way to get him to stay to.

GSW have $74 million on the cap for next season before you even reconsider resigning Barnes, Ezeli etc. They would probably try to move Jason Thompson in some package with Barnes and if you could get KD would probably be happy to move either Iggy or Bogut to create salary space for KD.

It’s not just creating room to make a play for KD, they will have Curry after a mega deal in 2017 so that has to be factored in too.

With KD you have to look for teams which would give him a better chance of winning a title than he has in OKC, so that narrows the field down quite a bit and I think he’d want fairly strong guarantees that top running mates will be added. Not "Sign for us and we’ll chase say Westbrook or Curry next summer"

I don’t know about that. Even with Westbrook, he still scores 27+ a game. Westbrook in many ways helps Durant be a more effecient offensive player. Opposing teams can’t focus on stopping just one of them, and right now Westbrook is averaging the second most APG in the league at 9.9, so it’s not like he doesn’t pass.

If Durant really does want to leave it’s got to be because he doesn’t feel like the Thunder are capable of winning a championship anytime soon.

KD to Minnesota. We have towns for rim protection, wiggins as a defender who can guard the other teams best player. Rubio to get him the ball where he wants it. He can shoot it as often as he likes. Lavine muhammed and dieng off the bench. The twolves will also be adding another top 5 pick. Durant can compete for a title for the next 7 years of his career after one season of developing the young players into championship players and probably a first or second round exit. He could choose the coach as well. He made the conference finals in his 4th year with a young westbrook and harden and the NBA finals the next year. He could easily do that with the twolves with in a year or two. If the twolves can dump pekovic and martin, they might be able to add another key player like terrence jones on a 15 million a year contract as well. It makes for someone to go there, it is actually an attractive place to go for once.

With KD’s free agency it would be interesting does he go on a team which is looking to challenge or could challenge with him or does he go to a team that are already legit contenders i.e Likely Conference Finalist and potential NBA Finalist.

When LBJ returned to the Cavs, I was excited about seeing him in tandem with Wiggins, Irving and co and was a bit disappointed when Wiggins was traded for K-Love only for that reason. I thought LBJ was looking at both the current and the future, he could take that team to titles but in a few years when he was in his mid 30’s he could perhaps assume the running mate role and hand over the team to Wiggins.

That is why I like Phila9012’s idea, T-Wolves have cap space now, they have good veterans and locker room presences plus a load of young talent. A lot could depend who they draft this year if they got Simmons then I’d have an issue with sharing the shots if KD came over given Rubio is their main ball handler and you have Wiggins and Towns there too. Anyone else they draft and it could really work.

The T-Wolves are a decent sized market team, let KG be in on the pitch etc. THe marketing team would have a dream "KG welcomes KD to Minny" etc. KG-KD T-shirts etc.

"Make no mistake: Durant isn’t close to gone in Oklahoma City – no decision, no leaning, sources said." Where is there news here? If one of the best players ultimately chooses to leave his team as a free agent, a team now known to have a clue would be interested and the player may actually want to play with the hottest team going. Good to know.
