I posted this last night, but I’m not sure what happened to it… so anyway here’s round two. I’m hearing a lot of destinations tossed around for Durant’s landinig place this free agency. I’m a Thunder fan so personally I don’t like any of it, but I realize there’s a chance he’ll leave. Why is no one talking about Portland? Adding KD to that team would make them an instant and long term contender overnight. A lineup of Lillard, McCollom, Durant, Aminu, and Plumlee with Crabbe, Davis, Harkless, Leonard, and Vonleh off the bench is the real deal! High energy, star players with chips on their shoulders, sourounded by good rebounding defensive plays who are more than willing to do the dirty work. He would stay in the same division which would hurt, and there are plenty reasons you can come up with why this wouldn’t work. It could though and that team would be LIT!

He’ll be playing in either Washington or Golden State by the time the 2016 – 2017 regular season begins.

Who wouldn’t want to sign a Top 10 player like KD to pair up with Lilliard and McCollum

Problem is both those guys need the Ball in their hands to truly be special, not enough Basketballs for all if them…

Washington and Wall makes the most sense IMO, if they could find a few big men to add down low they could contend for the next 5-7 years, IDK if they can find the big guys outside of trading Beal for a super deal, oddly enough Portland has a lot of good young bigs that could help the Wizards, namely Meyers Leonard and Noah Vonleh…

Why is nobody talking about Portland?

Man I’m a MN fan so I feel like I can say this…no superstar is going to Portland. They just aren’t. Just like a superstar isn’t going to Minnesota.

If KD is leaving, he’s not going to a team that isn’t better than OKC and isn’t somewhere important to him. He’s been in OKC for how many years? He’s been in that part of the country for how long? Why would he up and leave to the Pacific Northwest to play for a team that wouldn’t be any better than the team he’s already on?

These KD speculations need to stop. I wish people would just assume he’s staying in OKC. Instead of tricking yourself into believing he’s signing with your favorite team, assume the worst and assume he’s staying with his same team. Things won’t be that exciting. It’ll be a big dud. And that’s fine. There are a billion other NBA free agents set to hit the market.

Franchise chaning, elite top-5 players shouldn’t be leaving. NBA championship teams shouldn’t get their best players in Free Agency. That’s dumb. Use FA as a roster supplementation.

I replied to a post yesterday about him potentially going to Minny, and just so you know I’m a Thunder fan with no love Portland. The fact that he has stuck around OKC for so long means he’s comfortable with a smaller market. I also don’t think you can definitely say that Portland with Durant would not be better than OKC is right now (they may very well make it just as far into the playoffs as the Thunder do), and again I hope he stays! Forums like this, are for conversations like these. We love and obsess over the NBA so it’s fun to see what people think about outside the box ideas, let people post about their favorite teams all they want, if it’s absurd just neg it.

Two men in line at subway for lunch.

Man1: "yo where you think KD gonna go"

    Man2: "I don’t know, hopefully my Lakers."

Short lightskin man in the back of the line overhears the conversation and tweets.

    Later that day on Sportscenter

Host: "yes we have Chris Brossard standing by with an update out of OKC"

Broussard: "From sources very close to Kevin Durant, I am hearing he is considering the La Lakers."

I think Boston, Dallas could be a good team for him as well as Portland, but none of those teams would be better than the current OKC team even if they added him. I hope he stays in OKC, but understand why he would want to leave. I’m just hoping he doesn’t have an hour long ESPN special with his decision like that guy that went to south beach….

His team if he comes. Legendary team. His real legacy starts with the most winning NBA franchise,Celtics. East is weaker than the west and he is not winning one with Russell if it does not happen this year.
