I wanna see someone convince me Kawhi is the better player. I’ve seen this said on this site about 3 separate occasions and believe it is ludicrous. Everybody’s entitled to their own opinion although I believe those opinions need to be supported with some thought out explanations.

When Lebron is at the top of his game (Last Year’s Finals) he’s head and shoulders above the rest of the league. I don’t think Kawhi is better but he’s awfully similar the way he dominates on both ends. He’s not the elite passer Lebron is but he’s a very capable playmaker even outside the Spurs’ system. Kawhi’s combination of strength and length is so physically imposing compared to all the other wings, the only one ahead of him is Lebron. The one and only thing that might give Kawhi the edge is the fact that he’s basically a robot out there. Consistent production, great teammate who never shows discouraging body language, never takes a play off on either end, you just don’t see that in a player of his caliber.

Kawhi’s not better. No one currently playing is (sorry GSW fans). Lebron is top 5 all time. People hate on him but he is clearly still the best in the game. Steph is having a fantastic season and is (probably) the best shooter we’ve ever seen, but this is a career season for him. Lebron is having an average (for Lebron) season and he’s still probably going to end up top 5 in MVP voting. Steph is having a better season, and while Steph’s a far better shooter, Lebron is an overall better rebounder and defender, a comparable passer and scorer, and can genuinely play 4 positions.

Kawhi is a hell of a player, no doubt. Will be a long time all star and will be key in teams challenging for titles for years to come. For some reason tho, I ]feel he’s still holding back half the time. I’d love to see him totally flip the switch in the ASG, bust out for 50 and talk trash, then go back to the Spurs next to Pop all quiet like nothing happened

Sorry but while Lebron is a great scorer he is not a comparable scorer to Steph Curry this year. A comparable scorer to Curry hasn’t been since probably a young MJ.

Curry is averaging 29.8 PPG on just 33.8 MPG. His true shooting is a staggering 67.6 %.

This year Lebron is averaging 4.8 fewer points per game than Curry, in 2 more minutes per game. His true shooting is 57.1%.

In Lebron’s most efficient scoring season he averaged 27.1 PPG in 37.7 MPG with a TS of 64.9%.

In his highest scoring season he averaged 31.4 PPG in 42.5 MPG with a TS of 56.8%.

    Other players for reference:

    2006 Kobe averaged 35.4 PPG, in 41 MPG with 55.9 TS%.

2006 AI (in his highest scoring and most efficient year) put up 33 PPG on 43.1 MPG with 54.3 TS%

    2003 McGrady averaged 32.1 PPG in 39.4 MPG with a 56.4 TS%

    1987 MJ averaged a career high 37 PPG in 40 MPG with a 56.2 TS%

1988 MJ in his best statistical season (based on PER) put up 35 PPG on 40.4 MPG with a 60.3 TS%

If Curry was logging 40 MPG, which seems to be what most of the other guys on this list averaged, he’d be on pace for 35.3 PPG, and even if his efficiency tailed off a bit he would probably still be heads and shoulders above the others on the list.

Some1 posted yersterday that Kawhi was having a better season which isn’t even true lol.. Lebron scores more, rebounds more, and passes more than Kawhi.. They post similar stats on D too.. Lebron is still the better player.. I also think Durant is better than Kawhi

The West should roll in this one.

They can put out a lineup of Steph, Russ, Kawhi, Durant, and Draymond Green.  Which is pretty much what I would do.  Plus heavy doses of Klay Thompson, Harden, and Chris Paul.

Wow.  I almost forgot about Anthony Davis.

      Could be a blow out.

at or still near their prime….. James leading Cleveland past the Pistons & into the 2007 NBA Finals is still one of the unbelievable accomplishments I have ever seen….. When he scored 48 points 9 reb & 7 assists in the Series turning 109 – 107 game 5 OT win At the Conference Champion Detroit Pistons I was utterly Floored…..

put it this way – Cleveland as a team scored 30 points total in the 4qtr & OT & Lebron scored the last 25 points of that 30 w/ the Whole Pistons team keying on him & the final few buckets were thunderous dunks w/ All Stars like Rasheed Wallace, Tayshaun Prince & Chris Webber Hanging off him!

Lebron literally single handedly broke the Pistons will…. a team w/ 5 All Stars who had really Dominated the Eastern Conference from 2003 thru that 2007 Eastern Conference Finals…. people forget that Chris Webber scored 20 points in that game & the Pistons had 5 players score in Double figures…..

Tayshaun Prince, Chauncey Billups, Chris Webber, Rasheed Wallace & Rip Hamilton started for Detroit in that 7 game series…… against Cleveland’s Larry Huges, Drew Gooden, Zydrunis Ilgauskus, Sasha Pavlovic & Lebron…. Amazing…..

Is that Lebron still w/ us – of course Not, he was a force of Nature…. but Lebron taking that wounded duck of a Cleveland team to the Finals last year was Almost as impressive….. & looking back, how amazing is it that Cleveland won 2 games (almost 3) against Golden State before finally yielding……

As much as I luv Kawhi Leonard & I do believe he is growing into a border line Super Star b/c he does it at both ends….. & can pretty much do Anything on the court….. Do we believe Kawhi could lead the Spurs w/ Only marginal talent to the Finals….. if he were in the East? ……. Personally I don’t…… Not w/o help….

1/2 the people hated Kobe when he was on top….. 1/2 the people hated Jordan….. 1/2 the people hate Lebron…… When I was young I can’t tell you how many times I heard Jordan is just a selfish scorer who will Never win a Ring b/c he can’t play team ball…. I heard that for 7 years till he FInally won…. & then I heard "the only reason Jordan won is b/c Bird & Isaiah & Magic all got hurt & retired"…. or "it was b/c of expansion" ….. or some other Nonsense……

Jordan could run for President today & he’d win probably….. People who hated Kobe are already softening on him….. & the same thing will happen w/ Lebron in about 5 years…… When these All Time Greats get older….. the 50% of fans who don’t like them for one reason or another begin to appreciate them for the remarkable talent they displayed……

Sorry about the long post, I went off topic a bit……
