Wow, Kawhi has vastly improved. I know its only the first game but Kawhi looking good. Holding Kevin Durant to under 40% and scoring at will.

As a side note, Tony Parker is done

He’s obviously improved but durant is doing a good job defending and getting called for some non existent fouls.

San Antonio’s offense definitely looks different with Aldridge. More post ups and isos and less Parker pick and roll. Great game by Leonard though. Definitely outplayed Durant in this game even though it looks like it will be in defeat.

Parker legs looked shot. He kept on stumbling randomly in the game and looked uncharecteristically slow coming out of pick and rolls. Look for Mills to get a lot of minutes this season.

I didn’t think Parker was too bad.

Aldridge seemed almost invisible to me, with Leonard doing seemingly everything for this team.

He’s a very, very special defensive player, has some of the best hands I’ve ever seen and his instincts are ridiculous.

Thunder remain my favourites to win the title, they played against a very deep San Antonio team, didn’t seem to play that well but managed to get by on sheer talent.

As this group and Donovan get more reps and develop chemistry as a unit, they will get a lot better and they are just so talented.

Kawhi was not the whole game playing against KD and scored some of his points on Roberson who aclually is a much better defender than Durant. So big probs to Leonard for this big night, he is looking scaringly good now. I know many people have problems with Kawhi beeing already in some top 10 lists including myself but hell it really looked like it’s his spurs team now.

On a sidenote it was interesting to see that Donovan started both Roberson and Adams which I anticipated but still surprised me. In the end the Thunder must be really happy that Westbrooks stellar performance kept them in the game. To see that Dion not only has the confidence but also the trust of the coach and his teammates to play in crunch time and having run two big time plays for him makes me a believer in Dion on this team. He seems to be very happy in OKC and even if he is nowhere James Harden material, he is someone who is still and clearly learning the game and his role.

Kanter was also extremely effective with 15/16 in just 24 minutes and Steven Adams is my 2nd favorite player next to Russ on this team. He just isn’t used or needed on offense right now but I just love his motor, hands and especially his toughness. He might be the strongest center in the whole league. If you consider that McGary who is another rebounding machine and Cameron Payne were inactive this team looks deeper as ever.

Another thing I want to say is that to many people Ibaka is overrated but not at all to me. He is one of the best if not the best catch and shoot big man and when Presti said out of all Thunder players he thinks Serge had the best off season this clearly means something. If he really can pass a bit more and put the ball on the floor he is absolutely unique in the league to me and a PERFECT FIT next to Russ and KD! I truely believe Serge still has potential to grow and his numbers might not improve after all but heck what a weapon to kick the ball to in midrange.

Prediction I’m going to get killed for:  With his work ethic, Kawhi ends this year a borderline top 5 player if he stays healthy.
