Would OKC be better off just drafting The Tank and have him on a rookie contract than overpaying for Kanter?if he’s there at 14 OKC definitely has some options..start Adams and have Kaminsky come off the bench…he can space the floor and could be perfect next to Ibaka

How much do you think Kanter would demand? Something like $32/4yrs?

I don’t think he deserves it, but he’ll get at least 10 million a year.  Maybe even 12 or 13. It seemed like a good trade for OKC at the time, but really all they traded for was the privilege to overpay a really poor defender.

Kaminsky has a much better attitude, desire tro be better AND is a much better 3 pt shooter. More valuable to me.

Kaminsky has merit, but the Thunder need a big man who can score easily from the paint. They already have Serge Ibaka as a stretch four type who’s just going to take jumpers and Kaminsky would be a lot like Ibaka. The Thunder could certainly take him, but if they bring Kanter back they are loaded with big guys. If Kanter returns they have Kanter, Steven Adams. Serge Ibaka, Mitch McGary, and Nick Collision.

I doubt they take another big especially since shooting guard is their weakest position. I imagine they’ll go after a wing player especially since I doubt Billy Donovan will be playing Andre Robeson major minutes at the 2 guard next year.

Plus Kanters attitude changed after the trade and I think that will continue as he continues to be around Durant, Westbrook, and a respected vet like Collison. I don’t think he’ll ever be a good defender but I wouldn’t be surprised to see him develop into an average one. If he can do that, then he’s definitely worth the money.

Plus the cap is going up a ton in the next few years so Kanter at 12-14 mil is like 8 mil now. Definitely worth it.

Three way big rotation of Ibaka-Adams-Kanter would be really good.

OKC goes into next year with that and maybe an upgrade at SG either through the draft or by trading the pick then I’d say they should be either the Favs for the title or top 3
