juves4783 mock draft
12 days until the draft lottery, here's my mock if the current order stands. full comments through both rounds. pretty slow last few days of work...
please feel free to throw in your point of views, agreements and disagreements.
OKC already has Lamb who can come off the bench and get points. Adams is a duplicate of Lamb for OKC
right, but sefelosha is a free agent so i figured they'd move lamb to starter and adams would be nice off the bench.
How is it that this dude has finished in the top 30 in 4 out of 5 draft contests and yet he has -1149 points? Guess some people aren't very good at articulating their opinions.
well...i don't know why but the last 2 mock contests i was docked over 2000 points. it's been a goal to post a comment every day until i get back to 0.
I don't think Detroit needs another big to clog the paint. Josh Smith can't play the 3 spot plain and simple. Vonleh is a nice prospect, but I think they need to draft a legitimate 3 or a floor spacer like James Young. That way, they can play Smith at 4 if Monroe leaves, and they finally can play a 3 that can shoot.
Otherwise, nice mock. Gordon to Sac and Ennis to Magic sound really appealing.
passing on Gary Harris like that...
yeah, detroit is a pretty tough pick.
i definitely don't think j-smooth is as good as sf as he is a pf, but vonleh is such a super prospect. i had young there for a while.
on gary harris...makes sense but that last game by kcp (30 pt, 6 boards and 0 turnovers) had to leave some lasting impressions on the pistons...but i think harris is a definite option since stuckey is a free agent.
You think there is any way Detroit picked up Josh Smith knowing they would be losing Monroe? That way they could play Josh at the 4 and draft a 2 or a 3 that could shoot along side those guys. I think Josh will end up playing the 4 for Detroit. Best to part with Monroe as Smith has low stock right now.
the josh smith signing was always a head scratcher in my opinion. monroe never really seemed like a disgruntled player based on his improvements the last 2 years. maybe the pistons knew something we don't know but history says joe dumars was just a really bad gm. i think it was more of trying to make a big free agent splash than actual foresight.
but i think you are right, smith needs to play the 4 and monroe probably will move on. just the potential of vonleh is hard to get past...
Ah man, you must not have been impressed with Nate Wolters this year as you have them loading up on PG's in the second round. But frankly, they need everything, so cannot mess with your mock (or your mock track record).
to be honest, i didn't see much of the bucks' games. the only thing i do know is wolters was on a 1 year deal and is a free agent. if they resign him and have christon as a 3rd pg, that gives them the option of holding micic overseas for a year or moving the pick. i didn't really clarify that in the comments though.
Like it very much, I have James Young drafted #9 by Cleveland, too. My only concern is that Denver would gather too many undersized players if they draft like you predict. Anyway - great job!
