Since your are clearly rolling the dice with this entire rebuild, why not take a huge risk on Michael Beasley?

    A. We need someone to take our money so we can hit the Cap Minimum and Beasley could be had for fairly cheap even if we’re his highest bidder

    B. Beasley would definitely have tons of scoring opportunities as the starting Pf next to Noel at Center, he also increases our chances at a top pick for all the cynics out there lol

    C. The Philadelphia fans will either help build up Michael’s confidence if he puts up points and plays hard OR they’ll completely crush his soul if he dog’s it out there and becomes a negative influence on our young core, it’s a make or break type of City in Philly

    D. Saric isn’t coming for at least 2 seasons, and I’m sure he’ll be able to play with anyone we have on the roster by that time, Joel and Noel in the Paint and Beasley on the wing

    E. Screw it, who else are we really going to sign at this point, people are completely ruling us out of any free agent signing from now until 2016, with is both sad and ridiculous, someone’s going to want some of that Money and Marketability, signing Beasley could be the worst idea I’ve had all day or it could be a risk that turns in a nice reward

Beasley would prob like to play there. He can jack up as many shots as he likes and can prob score 20+ppg. Where else could he find a team like that ?

Even though this team is tanking I still don’t think you want someone as bad as Beasly… Is talent is amazing but his decision making and IQ makes him an anti-spurs kinda guy. When you have young teams with potential you want veterans that play the game right and work hard that will lead the young guys to sinning as they get older. You don’t want someone like Beasly who will take bad shots, not work hard, doesn’t care about winning, and develop bad habits of losing.

We are so thin on actually NBA talent at this point (although I think people are sleeping on MCW, Noel, Thad and KJ, whenever Joel gets back we’ll be a step closer to resembling a team)

And as I said if Beasley absolutely puts forth a piss poor effort and his IQ is truly that low, than he’s out of here in by the time Saric comes over and Thad comes off the books

And let’s look at things from a positive point of view for once, let’s say Brent Brown takes Beasley under his wing and tries to help him get through the issues of WEED smoking and his obsession with nailing WOMEN, if he can get over those minor personality defects he could actually become a better player in turn

Funny how Frank Martin a defensive hard ass, got the very best out of Beasley while he was at Kansas State, maybe a defensive hard ass like Brent Brown who comes from the Coach Pop system could turn Michael’s career around

As a Sixers fan…..absolutely not. Yes he is a guy that could either be a find or a guy that helps the tank….but if you ran the team do you really want him around the young guys? There is a reason that Thad Young hasn’t been dealt- veteran leadership especially for MCW and Noel(more MCW) who are suffering through 2 straight years of awful.

The 2+ year tank to this level is exactly the kind of thing that could possibly ruin a promising but very young point guard mentally. No need to add in a Beasley type of personality.

As a Timberwolves fan who is familiar with Beasley, just say no. You don’t want him infecting your locker room as your veteran presence. Wes Johnson learned a lot from Beasley and look where it got him. Beas is the only reason that Beas isn’t a success. It’s like trading for Josh Smith, it sounds like a good idea and then you realize how many people have tried to fix their mentality and failed. The reason Beas ripped up college is because he was trying to get paid and no one expected him to do anything but score. That doesn’t work in the NBA because opponents are going to exploit your indifference.

Let’s be real, how many time are these GM’s gonna keep giving this dude chances that he clearly doesn’t deserve. He seems like he doesn’t have that fire anymore, like he’s just going through the motions. And with that I say don’t sign him. if your rebuilding he’s not a guy you want deal with not only on the floor but off it as well. Yes, he can play but it not worth the headache

Not sure why a fan of any team would want Beasley.  Baffling

The Sixers are not interested in hitting the cap floor, if I recall correctly they didn’t last year. And a bad team without good scorers is like the worst environment for Beasley. Also, they have a lot of young players, if they have to sign someone to fill the roster they’re likely signing some high character veterans. No use for a guy who’s the poster boy of highly regarded prospects gone bad.

We would take guys on a 1 year deal where there is a draft pick coming.  Pot isn’t legal in Pennsylvania so probably not the best location for Beaser

I still would like to see Beasley play for a contender with a strong team culture. Obviously his time with the Miami wasn’t very fruitful, but another team could be different. Atlanta maybe? Houston?

Beasley would effect the youth in 76ers badly as mentioned.

If they need to take contracts, i believe Bargnani can shine, and New York would be willing to give him for nothing. They complement each other with T.Young. But not going to give winning spree

I’d like to see them sign Jimmer Fredette and let him jack up as many shots as he’d like. MCW could guard the SG’s and they don’t play defense as is. He could sign as one year contract and watch his stock go up.

This is a great idea. I am a knicks fan, but quite intrigued by the 76er’s strategy and I think signing a proven scorer to a team where scoring opportunities are obviously available is a great fit.

As a Sixers fan I’d be luke warm on this move. From a straight up basketball stand-point for a team trying to lose? Great move. From a building a franchise around young talent stand-point? Questionable, given his attitude and work ethic.

Honestly though, if you are serious about tanking then how would you not at least throw out an offer to a guy who was once so high that he was rubbing a teammates leg on the bench and thought it was his own?

Beasley makes no sense on the Sixers.

He is not a star so that means that there is no reason to spend cap room on him. He has poor character and attitude, and even if he didn’t have those things, he is a blackhole on offense and plays no defense.

He needs to go to a team with a strong veteran presence and culture, and earn his minutes with good behavior. He can provide a scoring boost to a bench somewhere, but we aren’t trying to win right now so he is worthless for us.

It is very telling that he could hardly get on the floor with the Heat.

Beasley has all star talent for sure, but the difference between his talent and his production is probably the largest of anyone in the league.

    No thanks.

I’m aboard with your thought process on acquiring Beasley. It would "look good" on paper because you all are in the rebuilding stage but it will not do any justice. A team such as the Sixers would make Beasley feel like he has free range of motion to do as he pleases, just because of the core that lacks veteran leadership. If LeBron couldn’t get anything out of him in Miami, what makes anyone think Philly is the best situation?

I think it’s a wrap because the window of opportunity is getting slimmer by the year. Something just isn’t right upstairs. How do you not become motivated to play for a legit title contender that will give you the minutes, as long as you give the effort and go hard especially when LeBron will vouch for you?
