BallerScriptParticipantI just read the "Where is arambone/zerodoubt/trex?" post and I saw how much people hate his posts and think he doesn’t know what he is talking about. I can tell you know I don’t know him personally but why all the hate? Everyone has opinions and some are very wild but possible. What ever his name is he said that Rudy Gobert was going to be something special in the NBA and a lot of people disagreed. Disagreeing is fine but disagreding to everything just because of one crazy idea and payloading negs and hate on it, that isn’t fine. This forum is supossed to be a place where you can post your thoughts and ideas about the NBA draft and not be a spelling nazi and make fun of other users thoughts. Just remember there is a difference between sharing your opinion and hating.

Memphis MadnessParticipantThe only constant here is that I make good observations then constantly lose points.
Still my go-to basketball website.
I think we need to get Bill Simmons over here. Then we can show him how smart we all are!

T RexPart of it is my antagonistic siege mentality, but most of it is just the natural revulsion the masses have towards the hyping of non-top 5 prospects. It happens every year, and awaits whoever does it next year.
The top 5 prospects get written in stone around April, and any dissent is met with cultish hostility.
And every prospect not predicted to go top 5 or top 10 by April is a scrub, because everybody knows that statistically they have a low chance of being successful. No further thought required/tolerated.

BleedGreen808ParticipantI have to disagree with you that people think players outside of the top 5 or 10 are scrubs. Personally, I had prospects that I liked into the 2nd round. It’s just once you get into the mid to late 1st round you’re getting players that are more likely to be role players.

Rip255Lol @ cultish hostility. Sorta true though…
Controversy creates CA$H.
No one remembers the mock draft that looks exactly like the websites. I figure the people writing such material are beaurocratic government workers. Quite possibly in Auditing or Human Resources. Theyre the type to have minor freak outs if something isn’t exactly how its meant to be.

BleedGreen808ParticipantI think it has to do with how over the top he was about his opinion. He talked about Andrew Harrison being better than Russell and Mudiay. He talked up a lot of prospects while making statements of how great they would be. We all have players and prospects we like, love, or dislike. But I think you need to be realistic with how good a player is and how good they can be.
There were many reasons why Andrew Harrison was a 2nd round pick while Mudiay and Russell were top picks.

Rip255I think there’s a lot of risk-averse people who get strangely worried when something fails to meet the status quo.
Fastest way to get mad negs is to share a difference of opinion to the mainstream.
Even stranger is how this applies to drafting, which is widely acknowledged as an inexact science. Therefore you would think there is some tolerance to hypping up under-the-radar prospects. But there isnt.
The way I see it….negs usually make for more interesting reading.

T RexMy inner "troll" loves hyping a guy, getting negged like crazy, and then the guy breaks out like I thought he would. Especially since I have a knack for it.
As everybody secretly knows by now.

Memphis MadnessParticipantD’Angelo Russell shot 4-15.
what did Andrew Harrison shoot?
I was on the Andrew Harrison bandwagon too. Not looking good so far but time isn’t up yet. Although probably headed overseas or to the Griz D League team — if he doesn’t get cut.
still think Okafor should have been the top pick.
Clarkson is good. He’s a point guard though right? What is Russell? He is a 6’5 guy who plays point, passes, shoots the 3, but is not that quick or athletic. Thankfully we have all been waiting for the next Brian Shaw.

FearTheStacheParticipantHarden is a 6’5 guy who basically plays point, passes, shoots the 3, but is not that quick or athletic. He was also the runner up for the MVP award and lead a hobbled Rockets team (mostly w/o Dwight) to the 2 seed (and WCF) in an historically good Western conference. How do you respond?

T RexHarden is much stronger, and much more athletic than Russell. Much quicker first step, with a lot more power behind it, and a better jumper.
That comparison was always highly flawed.

Magic JordanParticipantI just love poking at him because of his off the wall posts. Everything he says isn’t bat &$#%#&@! crazy, but his delivery always is. Suffice it to say though, forums need Arambones/T-Rex/Zer0doubt/20 other names…… I also think a little contentiousness is good for humans to have every day. I appreciate it. Got to keep the immune system sharp.

EspressoprodigyParticipantPlease Trex, you grab every prospect and hype them. What you doing is nothing more than predicting high potential players that everyone knows about, to come to their full potential, but there is no validation to that when you state that about everyone.
I said Henzoja going before Mudiay, Johnson before Winslow, Rusell before Okafor… you dont see me posting all over about it, because it’s not that crazy! Everyone here liked Turner and Oubre, man, get over yourself
I guessed Rashad Vaughn was going that high when he was projected in the second round or undrafted. That right there is not following the masses for you, not saying the former #1 HS prospect was gonna go 5 instead of 10.
