Randle could very well be out for the year.  Appears to have possibly ruptured his achilles.  No official word, but an aircast is being put on his right leg.  Truly sucks for this to happen, especially to a rookie in his first game.  Get well son!!  Hopefully it’s not a season ending injury.

Rachel Nichols reporting from the sideline that it’s a broken leg.  Much better news than an achilles, but still sucks.

puts things in perspective.  one minute im thinking about kobe and dwight getting into it and the next you realize thats all just bs drama and im seeing a 19 year old with great potential go down for possibly the season on opening night. Sucks for him and hopefully he can keep a positive attitude and not let this bring him down mentally.

    Man… This SUCKS!!! Smdh.

I don’t know which foot he broke, but is it possible it led to weakness in his leg? I mean, it didn’t take much to break it.

This is a damn shame though. I hate seeing injuries like this.

The Lakers truly are in some dark/depressing times right now.

that was so unfortunate and hope the guy bounces back in the future. it also happened to me the last guy i thought it could on the lakers squad. if it was Kobe or Boozer, we can say they have injury history in the past. even Jordan Hill and Jeremy Lin have missed their fair share of games in the league and Ed Davis had health issues his freshman year in UNC.

but Julius Randle? the kid has a grown man’s body and did not expect this to happen at all. wish him and his recovery all the best. just wishing that this will be one of those blessings in disguise and he comes out of it as a better player

Fractured Tibia. I really am not the best at analyzing injury dates but does that injury make him miss the year? Is it the slightly the same as Javale’s injury last year or more devastating?

It depends on how badly he broke his tibia. Either way the tibia takes time to heal, but if it’s a complete break the healing process can be up to 8 months. I’m rooting for Randle, get better dude.

I’m thinking Stanley Johnson, Kelly Oubre, or Karl Towns.

This season has pretty much turned into the Kobe Bryant North American Tour.

So, if you haven’t seen the Kobe Show yet, now is as good a time as any.

What young game changer is out there?  What young guy can help turn the Lakers franchise around?  Anthony Davis.  Anyone else?  Even Kevin Durant might be too dinged up with too many miles to make a HUGE difference when he comes up for free agency in a couple of years.

Anthony Davis would give the Lakers its first all-around, strong, finesse, pedigreed super star big man since they stole Kareem from the Bucks.

If I am the Lakers, Anthony Davis would be Plan A and I wouldn’t even have a Plan B.

Some news talking about the kid’s health instead of the ‘feud’ between Howard and Bryant. This really put things into perspective. As a Lakers fan, it is truly a dark and misreable time. Wishing the rook a speedy recovery. Here’s to coming back stronger. I know Julius will bounce back, I can just feel it- may not be this season but he’ll be back on the hardwood before you know it.

Really sad news, lets hope he can make a full recovery. It might effect him mentally as much as physically as it happened so early in his career. The plus side is, he’s a young fit guy and should have every chance to recover. I doubt the Lakers take any chances with him this season.

I was thinking that in the post Shaq trade season the Lakers won 34 games and that was with Kobe as a 26 year old approaching his peak ableit he missed 16 games that year. Kobe is a decade older now, I know he is still an elite player but he’s not realistically as good as he was back in 2004 and that team had a young Lamar Odom and Caron Butler plus Chucky Atkins to support the scoring.

As a Phoenix fan I hope the Lakers don’t suck too much so a nice draft pick comes our way. But I could see the Lakers having another comfortable losing season even if Kobe scores for fun.

The Lakers will have cap space next year so can rebuild fairly quickly. If they end up with a top 5 pick, I figure they pretty much take BPA. They seem to value bigs when they do draft higher so they would have options there. Stanley Johnson who would be one of the younger guys in the 2015 draft if he declares looks a good option too and Coach Scott helped mentor a young CP3 so Mudiay would go into a good situation there also with Kobe alongside him.
