The fact that this site has Randle going 8th overall is insane. Everybody is saying Jabari Parker is the most NBA ready, but i really have to disagree. Im not blaming Duke’s first round exit on him but come on man, he went 4-14 with no 3 pointers in a loss? They are comparing him to Melo? I just dont see that.

Then we have Embiib, who couldnt even finish the season healthy. A late-blooming 7 footer with injury concerns? no thanx! Im not saying its his fault hes hurt but im not taking him #1 overall.

Honestly the only player i would take over Randle with the #1 pick is Wiggins. Yes, i understand the concerns of him not showing up to some games. But i dont think hes much worse than Parker offensively, and i think Wiggins will end up being a beast on defense. Physically he will be a dominate force if/when he puts it all together. He started to really get it towards the end of the season and sometimes numbers can lie in college when you play with 2-3 other NBA lottery picks.

Randle led the nation in double-doubles as a FRESHMAN, and has led his team to the final 4…

    1 – Wiggins

    2 – Randle

    3 – Parker

    4 – Embiib

    Just my honest opinion. Thoughts?

Finally someone who gets it.  There are 4-5 elite prospects in this draft (depending on Exum).  Randle, Wiggins, Parker, and Embiid all have "face of the franchise" potential.  I wouldn’t be surprised at all if Randle ends up being the best of the bunch.  I have doubts on Wiggins simply because he might be one of those "Enigma" players kinda like Vince Carter.  Parker will be a stud but I don’t think he will be as versatile as Randle will become.  Embiid could be great but I could also see him being a Roy Hibbert type, not that that’s bad but I think the other 3 are more likely to become perennial all stars.

In short… Randle being at 8th is certainly ridiculous.  I can’t take anyone seriously if they have him outside of the top 4.   I could see the arguments for Parker, Wiggins, and Embiid but anyone else is just wishful thinking.

Worst case scenario for the Sixers is they draft at 4 and end up with Julius Randle?  Not bad.

Sixers fans would be happy to walk away with Randle and Early.

That team even LOOKS like a good Calipari team: big versatile guards and tough, long players inside:  MCW, Wroten, Early, Randle, and Noel.  Elliott Williams and Thad Young fit the profile too, if they are keepers.

If the Sixers got Randle I wouldn’t be mad at all. I’d go with McDermott or Warren with the Pelican pick. I’d love to get C.J. Fair in the second round. I think he’d be a nice bench player.

     @3noBias…

Thank you…but if Wiggins ends up being a Vince Carter type player, i will take that #1 in this draft.

I am not sure Philly could screw up this draft.  I mean they COULD.  But, it would be really hard.

The best two fits for Philly would be Wiggins or Randle and I even think that Randle would complement the team the best.  He would help mask Nerlens’ deficiencies and give MCW a guy to pass to.

Can you imagine an MCW-Julius Randle pick and roll?

Lavine at the 2 guard spot with New Orleans’ pick would give Philly a loaded core if they didn’t want to go with Early.

If Philly doesn’t get Julius Randle then I think Sacto should look at him.  He could help out Cousins down low, and they already have Gay, Thomas, and McLemore on the perimeter.

I actually thought to myself watching the Michigan game that the game would hurt his stock.  (I can see the negs coming, no worries).  His only face-up move is lower his shoulder and fend of the defender with his elbow, overpower to get to the hoop.  1.  He should have been called for some offensive fouls.  2.  He is not going to get away with that in the NBA against grown men.  He is just much closer to his ceiling than other prospects.

I would take him top 6-10 with all that being said, however a top 3 pick should not be warranted for him.

Marcus Lee (who I believe has much more long-term potential) on the other hand looked like a young Rasheed Wallace out on the court.  Hard to believe he was planted on the bench before then.

I have not seen a guy tha skilled and that strong in a long time in college.  He can bully his way to the basket but once he gets close he has such a nice touch around the rim with jump hooks and floaters.  He won’t be able to bully his way as much in the NBA but his skill set for a guy that big and strong is really impressive.
