JOSIAH TURNER...from BAD 2 WORSE...Arrested on DUI!!!

He was arrested on suspicion of a DUI on the Arizona campus...look on the bright side though...at least he can't get kicked out of Arizona...since he already QUIT the team...SMH

Written by: Bruce Pascoe: Arizona Daily Star

Former Arizona Wildcats guard Josiah Turner has been arrested on suspicion of DUI by UA campus police, a UAPD official said Sunday.

Turner was arrested within the past week, but no further details nor a full police report were available today, said UAPD officer Joe Bermudez.

Turner, 19, will transfer after he was suspended twice during last season for unspecified violations of team rules, the University announced earlier this month.

Turner was first suspended for the Wildcats' Dec. 7 game at Florida, and also suspended on March 7 for the Pac-12 tournament. His second suspension was termed indefinite, and coach Sean Miller said after the Pac-12 Tournament that it would also include UA’s appearance in the NIT.

"I am disappointed in Josiah for his actions," Miller said in a statement when announcing Turner’s indefinite suspension.

"Unfortunately this suspension comes at a time of great excitement and opportunity for our team. However, the standards of our program will not be compromised under any circumstances. Hopefully, Josiah will learn a valuable lesson from this experience."

The most highly touted of UA’s four freshman, Turner struggled on and off the court all season. Turner, who averaged 6.8 points and 2.4 assists, also was taken out of the starting lineup on Nov. 9 against Duquesne for showing up late to a pregame shootaround.

Turner made some progress toward the end of the season. He started 16 of 17 games leading into the Pac-12 Tournament and had several solid games in Pac-12 play. But Miller said near the end of the season that with Turner "it’s almost improvement by inches."
A product of Sacramento, Calif., Turner has not announced where he will resume his career but he has remained in Tucson to finish the spring semester.

Without Turner, Arizona does not have a true point guard for next season. But the Wildcats have combo guards in Nick Johnson, Jordin Mayes and Gabe York and they are recruiting Xavier transfer guard Mark Lyons, who can play immediately next season if he graduates next month.

Arizona has one scholarship remaining to offer for next season, after freshman Sidiki Johnson, center Kyryl Natyazhko and Turner all left the program before their eligibility expired.

Josiah Turner...Joining Larry Brown & SMU!!!

Troubled former Arizona point guard Josiah Turner appears headed to SMU assuming the school can get past his recent legal troubles, sources told SNY.tv.

“Josiah will land at SMU as long as the recent arrest doesn’t turn coach [Larry] Brown and others off at the University,” a source with direct knowledge of the process told SNY.tv.

Turner, 19, was arrested this past week on DUI suspicion, per Bruce Pascoe of the Arizona Daily Star.

He was also suspended twice last year by Arizona head coach Sean Miller for violations of team rules.

He was supposed to have visited St. John’s this past weekend, but the visit never came off.

Ironically, if Turner goes to SMU he will still land in the Big East once the school joins the conference in 2013. He will have to sit out next year, SMU’s last season in Conference USA.
